The TRUTH, people, is that they favor the other system because it sells more. That is why they all love the Wii as well. Once the PS3 outsells the pleasefixme worldwide and gets in the second place mark, the gaming mags and G4 will love the PS3, just like they did with PS2. Sad but true. They only root for the winning teams. Thats how the gaming industry seems to be working these days, and might have even been like this when we were kids playing Atari and Nintendo. I remember every place knocking on Nintendo last gen saying how horrible it is, and now they love Nintendo, and its basically THE SAME CONSOLE but with a magic wand.... this is just what they do.Message Edited by Fakk2 on 08-19-2008 08:07 AM
Kudos to you sir, I could not have said it better myself. This is exactly what is going on, it's all about pleasing the advertisers, and since the PS3s competition is using such an aggressive tactic this time around, they are spending the most money. Honestly. it's both good and bad for the industry. It's good because they are sinking millions of dollars into the video game market, but at the same time they have seriously compromised what little integrity is left. Also, it does have a lot to do with whats popular. These "news sources" want to please the target demo. Since the PS3 is in last place, PS3 owners are not the target demo. It's just like with the news channels. Fox knows that most of its viewers are conservative, so they swing the pendelum in that direction, while CNN knows they get the libral crowd, so they rip the conservatives a new one. It's all about image and catering to those who are buying/watching.
Yep, , it is a shame, but just like with sports teams, the press follows those in the lead.
