Ive had netflix or awhile now & I just bought a PS3 yesterday & I wanted to know if I can play the movies in HD. When I loginto my account on the PC it gives me the HD options but on the PS3 there is no Option in netflix to play the movies that are in HD.
When I play movies on the left side of the screen it says HIGH / SD.

Netflix has a bandwidth test when buffering. So if your connection can handle the HD stream, it will play the 720p version by default. Still not 1080p like on BluRay, but good for a quick movie when waiting for movies to arrive. My only complaint has been since the app came out, you need to be signed onto PSN to use it. So I use the disk until a few weeks past to make sure there's no issues with the firmware updates, much like I do on any computer.

You do not need to be signed into psn to use Netflix.
