If you used the same email/password combination at any other website, or on PSN in the past (2011 and earlier); it may not be "another" security breach; it could be nefarious users using an old email/password combination they found, or trying common passwords. (see http://www.haveibeenpwned.com/ and http://stricture-group.com/files/adobe-top100.txt

Why they're all buying FIFA stuff and nothing else is a bit baffling... perhaps the internets biggest troll.

What Sony should be doing is enabling login notifications and multi-factor authentication. Until then, make sure you use a STRONG and UNIQUE password.

You make a good point. My new password may have in fact been one I used before years back. That might explain the hole in the narrative. As for why, I think you saw it on the other thread, but FIFA points are transferable, and are being bought and sold on a black market.

My new password is not used for anything else. And I woke up to ANOTHER $140 taken out of my bank account this morning.

Well first off your game sharing period.

Secondly this whole thread is a TROLL/LIE.  Playstation DOES NOT take funds from your bank. They only accept Credit Card or Playstation Network Card and PayPal.

So this thread should be locked.

Sure it's just not a bad password? Dictionary words and/or a series of numbers are easily guessed.

Hi guys.

I‘m quite sure this is not a security breach.

Your password had nothing to do with it.

And it was not because of games sharing.

EA told Sony we bought for 150$ in annual pass and FIFA points. Those points are probably still linked to your account. I may be wrong, but I do believe this is all accidental.

The fact is: they could take everything from my credit card and they did not. So I think it‘s all an infortunate and frustrating bug from EA Sports billing process.

This is exactly why I delete my info from my account when I am done using it. Last year when RE5 Gold edition came out for Plus right when the stores updated and had problems. I was charged $40 for the game instead of getting it for free. I called them right away and got a refund within 6 or 7 days. But I did have to verify the proof that it was said to be free like it says on the blog site for PS. Which was ridiculous if a Sony employee doesn't know what's going on within the company on any aspect. Especially when it comes to the games.

I can't afford another mishap happening especially if it's that much.

There was a facebook and twitter breach last week I believe, if you used the same password there and PSN that could be one source of an issue. There of course could ahve also been another breach. Another possibility is Fifa having security holes, as xbox also had a Fifa incident.

What I'm sure of it is not game sharing for 99.9% of this, so go away GS trolls.

What should be locked is your account. Seriously, stop blaming the victim(s) here.

Sure, some people come on this forum and make stuff up for attention, but frankly, there is something wrong on PSN and it's involving Fifa. Any other time, I think you might have merit in asking about game sharing but not during these last few weeks.

PS. Debit cards do take money directly from your account, as does paypal if you have that set as your method of payment.
