Re: FEEDBACK REQUESTED 4/16 PlayStation Store Delays

There is nothing currently wrong with PSN as awhole, its just the store. You would think Sony would actually want to sell some product.....I guess I could be wrong on that though.

twitter is a great way for people to get updates like this but you should also include links to the forum to one update thread, it would cut back on users creating threads of there own, esp. if you have it pinned to the top. also use the blog as a means to talk to us about these issues also if not in its own why not in "the drop" with updating that the update would be delayed, and you have a website for a reason, if you set it up to be more informative alot of people would be content about delays the biggest issue is lack of comunication and when we do get it its after the fact.

The entitlement is strong in this thread.

Get over yourselves, this is a free service.

"The entitlement is strong in this thread.

You know what, that's BS that pseudo-intellectual sycophants like to throw out there in defense of corporate (not just Sony's) incompetence. Wouldn't it be just as relevant to say that Sony's network is just as "entitled" thinking people will stick with it after incidents such as this. Anti-consumer coporate crony jibber-jabber such as that has no place AFTER the fact that they've asked for public feedback in a fleeting attempt to make amends.

Quit being a drone defending the none-too precious queen. That goes to anyone pulling the "entitled gamers LOL" nonsense out of their posteriors. Sony's people asked for feedback in light of a seemingly pointless delay for which they failed to provide a full explanation. What the hell did they expect besides the complaints - buttkissing and whiteknighting? Ain't gonna happen 12 hours from the last update from anyone at the company. Free or not, delays such as this with little to no explanation and/or updates is inexcusable. It's bad for consumer sentiment, and that's all there is to it.

Re: FEEDBACK REQUESTED 4/16 PlayStation Store Delays

Morgan,

I realize that Playstation needs to hold close some business information,  but the "we are experiencing a delay" should have come around 4pm. I'm pretty sure that the store team knew, or at least I really hope that the PSN team updated the store team with outage information, it was going to be delayed. I'm sure you can't tell the users why there was an outage or the reason it was delayed, but I'd like to think that you can give updates every 4-6 hours on the current status.

4pm: Due to network maintenance the store publish will be delayed.

9pm: Due to network maintenance the store publish will be delayed.

12am: Due to network maintenance the store publish will be delayed. Next update at 8am PST.

8AM: Due to network maintenance the store publish will be delayed.

I know some people want to know why, and I'm sure Sony won't say, but some information is better than nothing. So I do appreciate the information given in this post and by Playstation. It just doesn't seem often enough.

s for the store update. I'll quote Ace Ventura "If I'm not back in 15 minutes... Just wait longer" Smiley Happy

Re: FEEDBACK REQUESTED 4/16 PlayStation Store Delays

It's not really free in every case.

Some people have paid to become a Plus customer.

It's also not free if you've pre-purchased credits that you can't use because the store is not working.

It's also not free in the sense that it's promoted as part of what you get with your purchase of the PS3. Clearly the PS Store is an integral part of the PS3, and as such it's part of what you paid for.

My frustration is more with the ongoing corrupt data errors on large downloads. My PS3 came with a free Plus account. I can assure you that I won't renew it if this is what I get for the money. I'll stick to buying pre-owned games and Sony won't get another dime from me.

Yeah, I've been a XBL member for the last 9 years and even in the early days of the 360's I can't ever remember this happening on XBL marketplace.

You guys need to get something figured out so people aren't sitting around trying to figure out what's going on. Pretty sure MS does there update at like 2 am PST. If you did this then you would have the morning to work on any problems. Give us a 10am PST deadline and start the update at Midnight to give yourself time. If we wake up and it's done then great.

It would seem you guys really have a week to get things sorted out, because you should start when the last update is done.

Ive been an XBL member for about 8 years and the funny thing is, I can't remember the last time I wanted anything from the update other than DLC. I usually only buy the exclusives, so I bought SKYRIM for for PS3 and I got stung. I usually buy for the best color saturation, looks. Now Im very careful if its dual platform and I never buy day one.To tell you the truth, I haven't bought XBL since the last installment with master chief. I would say that if I look back for the last 3 years 90 % of my purchase goes to Sony for all the various reasons 3D, Vita, PSP or the exclusives, JRPG's, free network, etc. etc..

What Im trying to say is that the content on PSN will always override what you get on XBL unless things are change. If an update doesn't go off on time I don't think the majority of people care.If you are a PS Plus member you get to play a lot those decent titles you might  have passed on. I have more stuff for free that I can't even begin to play through because I still buy really HOT titles. My 50.00 gets me GAMES not just access to the network. There is maybe one more game I will buy for this generation,Last of US. Ill be playing  my PS3 for 2 years after the PS4 comes out, I just don't need it. I don't social network on it, I don't have phones hooked up on it and Im starting to run netflix and amazon through the TV instead of my gaming consoles.

Back in the day I bought a  WII, a 360 and a PS3 within about 2 months.  About 2 years later I bought a PSP and a DSIXL. So at the start it was all XBL because of the content. Then it was mixed. For the past 2.5 years or so its been all SONY aside from two XBL exclusives.

The kicker is, even with all the heavyweights you know what's coming out on top?......VITA. My family spends more time and wants to play the VITA. It even beats pokemon.I have a 7 yr old that is turning out to be a pretty good master chief. He wants his own VITA. My 3 yr old plays frobisher says ,treasure park and the numbers game in welcome park.My wife was on it last night and she NEVER plays video games. Her only comment was,"this is better than the DSIXL isin't it ?" I told her" It depends what you want to play and its a very fragile machine so do NOT give it to our 3 year old unless you are sitting right there with her, but yes, its pretty amazing."

So this is the way it has played out .After all said and done the VITA wins on family value. For me? I sneak away to my 3d flattie and headphones to play those" ADULT" titles on my PS3 or the two on XBL. The  bedroom is my retreat, I shut the door and play while the kids watch the 55' in the living room.I do get mobbed though, at times, by two monkeys raiding and jumping up and down on the bed telling me they want to play VITA.

Good business is as it goes, on time.Thats the way the real world is.I just view gaming as entertainment, it doesn't matter. Its all about the content.I do not take time off of work  or school  for a game or a download.

I feel your pain you must have really anticipated something in that update.

LOL gotta love this, hurry up and wait. One thing is you have to know, when you see things like this something is broke Smiley HappyOr an anticipated release is broke or an update broke something.Dont expect them to tell you"We broke something". Its all about "Saving Face" Remember Sony is from Japan. When you break something it could take time to fix it, it could take days. I wonder if there is a high turnover there.I wonder if they use a lot of interns.Anyways history has a tendency to repeat itself....so hurry up and wait. LOL

I don't get all the hatred. I mean it isn't like the store actually ever really WORKED in the first place. With all of the lag, loading and errors popping up 24/7.

They could do maintenance and repairs for a whole year and the store would still suck and not work.

So no worries guys, you aren't missing anything. Sony just hates money, and its fans. If they didn't hate us they would release a store update that actually fixes the problems instead of creating them.

You know, I'm seeing quite a few posts lately where people are saying the Vita is becoming their primary system. That's awesome! I'm not quite there yet - my family allows me an insane amount of PS3 time - but I'm getting close. It's definitely the system I'm most interested in getting new content for.
