I had hoped when the newest update came out, it would of resolved my problem. Nope, not one bit.

Games still freeze, i have graphic glitches with stuff flashing, almost looks like i am playing the game mid development sometimes. I have swapped out 2 ps3s with my warranty at gamestop due to this. 3 different machines, 3 exact same problems. This is not a system thing, this is the update from ps3. All 3 systems where the fat 80 gb ps3 fully backwards compatible. and all these **bleep** updates should not be a mandatory thing. There was more to this update than you publicly stated Sony. Stop all the nonsense, admit it was an error on your part, and fix it. up till 4.25 update everything was great.... now, its junk... my ps3 is more of a paperweight than a game system.

I have slim ps3. Had update prompt saying that my last upgrade was 4.0 and new update available. I updated and said to turn off console once installed. It did this and then I turned it back on and all I've had is a blank screen since. Tried turning on and off, checked leads and telly, tried loading with and without a game. Still blank.

exact same thing to mine killed it after reset after update I have the 320 gb they assured me wasnt updates fault and charged me 100 to fix I am thinking they are wrong mine is model number cech-2501b serial number CG914396732 I have a second system that requires update to play black ops two if it does the same I am goin to be pretty mad

Model# cech2501b serial #CG914396732 did update and it fried my system TV would not recognize ps3 and controllers either I called and was assured it was not update now reading these posts am dang sure it was and got charged 100 dollars for you guys to repair it really?? Not happy

I have a fat 60 GB. It has always run fine and I have had no issues whatsoever with it. I ran the update and it never started up again. It seemed to get hung up during the final moments of the install process and never powered on again. This is an awfully strange coincidence. Stranger still, is the same thing happened to a good friend of mine who has the same exact PS3 model. This strange coincidence sure does make people think that Sony has done this intentionally as a way to increase revenue. Many people have vowed to never spend another single dollar with Sony again. In my opinion, major damage control is needed. I will be spending my dollars elsewhere as well, until we are made whole from this problem.
