Keep getting booted from Black Ops 2

I just upgraded my comcast internet to 35mbps. I also tested this speed and it was all working perfectly on my laptop.  When I go stratight from my modem to the ps3 it shows im only getting 7mbps.  Why am I losing so much speed?  Also everytime I try to play Black Ops 2 I get the connection interuption, then it will kick me from the game.  This is so frustrating.  Someone please help!
