[MAINTENANCE] Scheduled PSN Maintenance for October 15, 2012

Hi everyone,

We wanted to reach out to you in order to let you all know that there is a planned maintenance for the PlayStation Network scheduled for Monday, October 15^th from 4AM to 4PM Pacific Time (7AM to 7PM Eastern).

If you’ve signed onto PSN over the past few days, you’ll still be able to play online and access apps during this period, but you may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management as these services will be unavailable. Be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the Network during this maintenance window.

Thanks for your patience during this maintenance timeframe, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Are you fixing the 4.25 issues and the massive lag issue with users?

Very few of my PS friends come on to these Forums for info. To reach the people who need this information, the Maintenance messages should also be broadcast when folks log on to PSN on the XMB. A news ticker advertising the PSStore items in the upper left of the screen. Why the heck not run a simple message saying PSN Maintenance and then the time-frame?? And if Maintenance is underway, just say how many more hours - then don't have to worry about time zone info. Adding a more detailed News & Info icon with message would be helpful.

Would this affect my ability to connect to the EA servers? I bought Fifa 13 this afternoon and have been unable to connect to their servers, I am able to talk to others on PSN who are connecting without an issue, I'm really at a loss as to what is causing this.
