Long story short: Wired connection on my Slim won't pull down DHCP when a laptop on the same cable/connection will; If I give it static IP address it passes "obtaining IP Address" test but fails connecting to Internet test with error 80710102. WIRELESS works without issue.
Here are the facts:
I'm not sure if my PS3's NIC is hosed or if there's just something stoopid that I'm missing. I'm perfectly at home setting up networks and configuring routers, but I don't spend much time on this PS3 (mostly because I'm out setting up networks and configuring routers )
I'm suddenly getting the same 80710102 error. I can connect wirelessly without a problem.
I've been connected via wire for many weeks without a problem. I have a static IP setup on the PS3 and haven't had any issues until a few days ago.
I've spent a few hours searching the net and trying out possible solutions but they don't help. I've switched cables, ports, connection methods (into the router or into the modem or into the gigabit switch), nothing helps.
