My PS3 won't update. It stops at 99% every time and says "An error occurred during the update operation (8002F310). I attempted to update it via PC but my PS3 won't even access the safe mode. Every time I turn it on, if I wait for the 3 beeps, then the 2 beeps, then the rapid double beeps, it still brings me to the System update screen. Is there anyway I can fix this?

Is your set-up wired or wireless?

Mine is wireless.

I would suggest that you try wired if you can. Though wireless is great, for many people it increases the possibility of lag, disconnects and lost content.

If you intend on remaining wireless, I would then suggest that you make sure that no other device (another console, a computer) are using the same router at the same time. I would also move the PS3 and router so that the distance between them is decreased and that there are no obstacles, such as walls or electronics, interfering with communication signals. The closer they are, with a more direct link, the better.

Or just go wired only when doing updates, if you still wish to use wireless.

Hello again. My PS3 is still unable to download the update and I have tried several different ways. I was told that the Playstation 3 would not connect to the wired connection however, because you need to access the settings and choose wired connection to do so. My PS3 can not access any other screen or even the safe mode and continues to stop at 99%. Is there any other solution I can fix this? Or can I actually plug in the wired connection and it will connect right away?
