I am wondering what happens to an account with a plus membership that has been suspended/banned. Plus has an automatic renewal system. If you cannot login to your account what can you do to stop the subscription?

Aside from canceling the form of payment that you used, nothing yourself. I would suggest calling Playstation customer support first, and asking if they can take care of the problem for you.

I ended up calling Sony and they helped me out.
The rep informed me, if your account is banned, autorenewal for PS+ will be canceled.
So heads up anyone holding on to FW 3.55. It will cost your account, PS3, and all the purchased content associated with it.
I recommend updating your console!

Yeah actually.
Calling customer service is an automatic thought in any occasion. I apreciate gkpamo00's response, i figured actual Sony employees might respond with a definitive answer.. and by the way buddy the suggestion to call CS doesnt answer my original question. I wouldnt have posted the ANSWER if i wasnt trying to inform others.
