Last night we ordered a movie with our 2nd PS3, (1st one had YLOD after only 15 months). We couldn't watch it because we didn't deactivate our broken PS3 which of course was impossible. You are only allowed one video account with the PS3. I read online that people had bad experiences with PS3 and them refusing to deactivate their old system HOWEVER I just called 1-800-345-SONY and spoke with a kind lady and she asked me a few questions and said they allow a 1 time deactivation for the PS3 and they did it for me with no problem. I think they should do it however many times their products break and we can't retrieve our old stuff. There systems break to quickly in my opinion.
