First time posting, hope I'm doing this right...
So I got the Pulse headset about 2 weeks ago. Was working fantastic till last night, turned them on, and they went into "Connection Stand-by" mode (blue headset indicator light blinking twice, repeatedly) and won't finsh connecting. The insane thing is the light will keep blinking even after I turn the power off on the headset. The light on the usb dongle will stay solid blue.
I tried doing the Reset that's described in the manual (pusing a pin into the tiny Reset button on the dongle, yada yada yada), but no dice, still not working.
Any one else having this problem?
What I'm doing right now is I'm leaving the headset on, hoping that the battery will die. Maybe getting it back to square one will kick it into gear.
Any ideas how to get things working again is greatly appreciated!

Whoa! Thanks for the fast response!!
I looked in the manual last night how to do a reset, didn't know the headset itself had a reset also.
The procedure I found listed was to push in the reset button on the dongle, it flashes, then hold down the VSS, Mute, and Mode buttons, then turn the headset power switch on.
I'll look at the manual tonight when I get home to see what I missed.

So, in response to the Pulse headset having a reset button, it doesn't.
I've checked over the manual again, and the only reset procedure is the one I've already mentioned.
Good news is, the headset is working again.
What I did was I left it alone overnight. In the morning the headset was still in Connection Stand-by mode (light blinking twice, repeatedly).
Went to work, got back home, and the light wasn't blinking anymore.
My guess is either the battery drained, or it just finally gave up trying to connect.
I plugged it into the PS3 for a few minutes, then turned the headset on, behold it works.
I still find it strange that the headset remained in Connection Stand-by mode even with the headset power turned off.
I hope this is a one-time thing, I don't want to have these problems in the future.
If all else fails, I bought the insurance from Best Buy when I got these. Thank Zeus for that.
Thanks again gR3yGh051 for the pointers

So here I am again. A few days since my last post, and the headset wouldn't synch again this morning.
I didn't even bother trying to do a reset.
I shouldn't have to do a reset every few days, that shouldn't be how it works.
Hell, trying to reset didn't even work the first time.
I'm gonna say these are a faulty pair of headphones, and I'm gonna exchange them.
But if this happens on another set, then these headphones are terrible.

Hi there! EXACT same problem here, tried to fo all the "reset" shenanigans, the headset won't turn off, and don't sync. Will wait until batery drains out. The thing is; If this happens in the middle of a gaming session I will be very upset. Maybye the trick is to let it drain once per week.
I googled to hell about this... only found your post. Thanks For Sharing!

Hey, this exact same thing is happeneing with me, I don't know what's wrong, I tried to reset both the headset and the dongle but nothing works, even when I connect the dongle to my laptop there's no sync, but when I connect the included 3.5 audio cable I get sound as long as the headset is off. It's really getting on my nerves! I didn't expect a $150 headset to act this way!

@ infected and Maigo :
I feel your pain about the headset, for sure!!
I hope you've resolved your problem since your postings.
@ infected: I swear, it's as if Sony doesn't want these problems to be aired out in the open on Google. It's actually pretty hard to find any listings for problems with this headset. I smell something foul...
The only fix for me was returning them to Best Buy. Luckily I was still within the 30 day return period.
Got a new Pulse headset and they've been working fine. No problems synching (pairing).
That is until today....
No, not a problem synching, but a sound issue. NO sound was being output to the headset.
I suppose this new complaint should be posted elsewhere, but here it is in short anyway.
I messed around with all the audio/accessory settings on the PS3, looked at the ports I need to forward according to Sony (which doesn't make any go#$%am sense to me since I'm hard wired to the internet, and I didn't have to forward ports before and the headset worked fine), turned the headset and PS3 off multiple times, searched the internet, yada yada yada.
Unplugged the dongle, plugged it back in. NOW it's working.
This headset is a fickle one.
Will post this new problem on another thread to make sure it's found.
Sorry to the mods if I'm not following rules here.

I got the new Sony ps3 pulse elite for Christmas. Have been using it every day with no trouble other then the battery dying kind of fast because of the Bass boost. Which is a great feature even if it kills the battery.
I was playing this afternoon and left the system on while in the game menu for maybe 3 -4 hours (I usually turn everything off when I'm done) i also turned the headset off to preserve the battery and charge them. when I came back to play I turned them on and I got no power tones and couldnt hear a thing. I turned them off and on and still got nothing. Took them off and looked and the headphones were stuck in standby.
I Did the trouble shooting.. resetting dongle and headset with no fix. The headset will stay in pairing until I power them off, but the dongle goes into to standby after a few minutes then goes black.
now every time I plug the headset in to the ubs cord it shows "unknown USB device" it used to show the little icons in the ps3 notifier.I also noticed when powering the headphones off the led hangs on and the blue led slowly fades to black after flashing a few more times.
I Tried manually searching for them and nothing happens while jn pairing mode. I Powered the ps3 off then turn it on and the dongle flashes like it wants to connect but the headset but it wont. the led just flashes blue 2 times fast (standby) every time I turn them on. I'm beginning to think it may have to do with the power button or sensor.
I tried to use them as normal headphones which I never did. With the audio cable plugged in them and I get a green led when on, but no sound. When I power them off it plays music through them with no bass. While the music was playing I noticed switching from off to on caused a surge of sound. (Really loud for a second then stops) Which leads me to believe its something with the power switch. I am going to return them tomorrow and get a new pair before my 30 days is up.
For the hell of it I downloaded the new app made to install new sound modes on the headset. You can get it in the playstation store for free. I figured I'd reinstall the software and that may fix it. when I plug the headphones into the usb I get a chime like it picks them up on the ps3 but It won't let me do the install/update. It tells me to make sure they are powered on. :/
Again it leads me to think its something with the power switch or standby sensor?
The whole thing is odd... The ps3 is picking the headset up but will not recognize them at all.
One other thing is I always got a red led when they were off and plugged in. I don't get that showing if they are charging now in either position. It's like they are just stuck in standby and useless. After trying everything many times, killing about 3 hours with them and searching the web I found your post. I just thought I'd share my experience.
Sorry it's so long but I wanted Sony to see this as well.
Btw did you have the elite? Or the older headset? My friend has had the old one and has since it came out with not one problem.
So I was curious because it sounds like you have the same issue I do. It may be a bug in the new headset?
