Re: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB cards, LiveArea Limits(Main Post updated 7-27-12)

If I had to pay $299-399 for a 128GB memory card, just to alleviate the issues of having to worry about space ever again, I would do it, and I'm sure a few thousand people would as well.

Re: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB cards

Alright, im compelled to side with the "We need bigger cards than the launch formats consisting of 4,16,32gig"  Im also somewhat vexed at this statement that we have be happy with what we are given......Dude.....do you work for Sony? Im gonna assume that you do, because you're backing them up like you would if they were your newly aquianted nymphomaniac girlfriend. The bottom line is WE WANT BETTER! WE WANT BIGGER! and its a gamers right to yearn for more (we have the calluses on our thumbs to show we earned it!)

I bought the 32g card myself, and worked with the 4g, then the 16g to get to it......and no sony does not make things easy when swiching...when flipping cards we are forced to deal with file loss, or files being left on the origin cards...**bleep**.

I LOVE MY GAMES! I WANT TO HAVE ALL MY MOVIES, MUSIC, PHOTOS, PS1 GAMES, and finnally the growing number of Download format Vita games (ya know the ones that get released with the card format media games) I Dont Feel like flipping games in and out, in and out! I have this dire need to embrace the future of portable gaming, I want it all to come with me ON ONE CARD. EVERYONE DOES.

So.....now we wait.....we can assume they are on the way.  BUT PLEASE, Can we dicontinue this whole "sony knows best BS" ??

Sony is a multi-million Yen company located in japan, We are but ants in the sony comstomer base.  Japan is most certainly doing their best, Ori-gatto Sony-sempei. But they know what we know, and our fellow japanese vita owners are **bleep** too (probably loader and in Japanese mind you) But the Term "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT" translates the same in Japanese im sure, and Sony Japan is profit driven.

Re: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB cards, LiveArea Limits(Main Post updated 7-27-12)

Looking on Amazon, I'm only seeing Sandisk carrying even 64GB micro SD cards.

128GB SD cards exist on a few brands(Kingston, Lexar, Sandisk)

Not exactly sure why Sony doesn't like going above 32GB on any kind of card.

I honestly would be perfectly fine with the 32GB limit, if they could spend 10MB on a memory card to increase the amount of bubbles on the Vita.

As more physical games are released, this problem will be even greater.

So has anyone heard of a rumor about bigger memory cards, or larger livearea limits?

smh why not just keep your psp and play those old psp games then besides not all psp games will work with the VITA its a list of a few that actually work anyways

There are a few things that make playing on the Vita a lot more feasible.

1)   For guys, we have bigger hands.   The bigger the device, the more comfortable it feels.   Third party designers produce grips because they know of these issues with handheld consoles.

2)   Dual Analog sticks versus a nub.   And in some games, the right analog stick works just like it does on the PS3

3)  The screen is bigger, and much better.

There is a major advantage to the PSP

There are NO application limits.   If you want 700 mini's on your 32GB card, your PSP can fit 700 mini's

I would be perfectly fine if the PSVita had 2 forms of application placement.

1)   Like the XMB for PS3 and PSP, no limits, everything in a row based on Date played, date installed, alphabetically, etc.

2)  Look at how music is sorted, why can't the Vita do this when you exceed the 100 bubble limit?

3)  FOLDERS, Smartphones can do this, why can't the Vita?    It would make placement so much less cluttered.    You won't have to scroll up 7 screens to get to the game you want.

Another Vita issue that honestly prevents me from buying multiple memory cards.

THE VITA DOES NOT REMEMBER WHERE THE GAMES ARE PLACED WHEN YOU SWAP CARDS.  For the love of god, use 128kb on the Vita memory storage and stop making us re-move the icons.

Re: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB cards, LiveArea Limits(Main Post updated 7-27-12)

Why wouldn't you come out with a 60 4G memory card is no way in the world 32 will do it all you should've had 64 or better there is a time where at a time where 64 gigs in better is what people are asking for we are constantly downloading music pictures game apps why would you stop at 32 and yeah it is what it had 64 in a reasonable price then you would go higher from 32 gigs in 100 bucks is a bit steep but 32 gigs 100 bucks in no 64 gig to follow up on is just completely asinine. It's like a meeting in which nobody had a complete thought about what you were going to do personally I would've forgotten about the AT&T deal went Whitis 60 4G built-in memory and adding additional sign car memory just in case people wanted it. I mean with all the personal hotspot and all the different devices out there that need Wi-Fi just having AT&T would a Wi-Fi card that's ridiculous and having no additional space and no built-in memory crazy it would've been so much better they have built-in memory and additional memory as well me you guys make millions but you're not thinking of the people. And I know you would probably prefer to have more downloads and people buy because why should download it is so one-shot deal although if you buy a Dany terminate the hope that somebody is going to buy an old game but you Mclaney on the downloads. Now if this would be the case you would want to create a bigger space people have more to work with specially if you going to eat up what little space we have which a little tiddlywink emails stuff and so forth now you should Adrona space to begin with.

Re: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB cards, LiveArea Limits(Main Post updated 7-27-12)

I think it's better to have and not need them to need and not have people don't want to be changing memory cards all the time one to the other big rather have it all on one card instead of the AT&T connect you should of had 64 gigs 120 right off the red then turned around and had a slot for additional space. 2012 everybody's know how to download so what do you think 2013's going to be more downloads more downloads of more down we need to space we want to space you want to separate I don't have to switch between card after card at the car the more space the better better to have and not Needstan to need an iPad can't say it enough. I find the topic of memory to be kind of asinine only for the stag and it's automatic that people want to download stuff it's automatic that there is so many options between music pictures and games why would you want to have more space why do we even have to ask that question you can tell from the PlayStation three that people are buying things with more space not less. You took to PSP which was a decent handheld game at time you up the ante and you made it that much better however the PSP had a 64 gate and useful of the need of memory should have come out stronger in a lot of areas that would've made this even that much better of a gaming system. You would think that most people learn from their past you guys seem like you're on the same level we shouldn't be here

Re: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB cards, LiveArea Limits(Main Post updated 7-27-12)

I agree with the original post. 32BG is just not big enough. Cudos to Sony for making the media non fixed like an Ipad...see the prices you are paying for a 64GB Ipad, over the base model !

My 32GB card:

I now have 20 App icons.

                    10 Game card icons

                    44 download game icons

                    5 PS+ game icons

at 10 pages x 10 icon limit, I do not have many left when I have well over 21 games I know I will buy in the next year.

I have around 5GB of space left.

I have 4 Apps that are not already on the system and I use them all. I have deleted all other Apps to save space for games.

I have 3 music albums stored and around 50 songs stored for off line use for my Music Unlimited (out of the 3000 I could download)....seems on my storage space, my music is limited without changing media. I have tried changing media. Changing media is not advisable on this system...as said above, icons move, icons go missing, files sometimes go missing!

If Sony meant for us to change cards and use multiple cards, I believe they should have made the system more suitable and the media more robust for changing often. I am no longer willing to keep changing media, I believe it is not a good idea for the longevity of my systems health.

I could max my system memory now, but keep getting rid of items to maintain some storage and icons for games I know I am getting soon. By the end of my 2nd year with my beloved Vita, I will no longer be able to do this without seriously comprimising the advantages having interchangable media has.

If Sony do not change my ability to buy larger media, or at least make it easy to change media in a convenient manner, I see that I am likely to stop buying games so often. This will mean I will spend less money with Sony. I believe that this will be the case with many and is a bad oversight in planning for Sony. Yes the Vita needs more sales, but Sony need media sales to make the system viable.

Sony have a better system at this time for media downloads...games, music, film etc.....way ahead of Nintendo at this time....Sony, make use of this advantage, let us have the storage media so that we can download more and make your software work so that people that have the money can spend it with you!

Give us at least 64GB cards and a non icon limit by the end of 2013. Alternatly, I know you will lose money from myself and believe you will lose the advantage of having great content to download. I believe many will all be fed up of F'ing about with memory cards that are too small in size and capacity to keep our interests unless you drop the price of the system and I buy 2! lmao.

Re: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB cards, LiveArea Limits(Main Post updated 7-27-12)

When the PSP first came out, there was no need for bigger than 1GB because the only thing you could save on the PSP, were save files.   Fast forward to 2012, now there are digital games taking up 1-2GB

In fact, yesterday, we received Jetpack Joyride which is 31.1MB, the size of a mini.

Physical games also take up almost zero space on a memory card, there are a few exceptions.   Some video games like Plants vs Zombies that are digital, do not take up a lot of room.

LiveArea needs a major overhaul.   I don't think Sony expected people to fill up the 100 bubbles, and still have several gigabytes of room.   The PSP had no application limits, why should the Vita, a device that is supposed to be far more sophisticated?   LiveArea either needs folder support, or to be treated like the Music Player's playlist, drop down and select the game you want to play.

I have a 16GB card full of PS1 and Mini's, that my 32GB card ran out of room to hold not because of storage, but because of the 101 apps and games limit.

I would also like to see LiveArea retain the position of every bubble on the memory card, who wants to spend 30 minutes looking for applications on a card just because the Vita hates memory card swapping?
