Are we allowed to use any music we want or do we have make/use our own original music?

I want to know that aswell, somebody that knows the answer please help us! I also want to know if the file has to be exactly 30 secs, cause mine is 33 secs and i would hate to be disqualified for such a stupid reason

I think we just have to go by intuition. If it says 30 seconds, it would be smart to make it JUST 30 seconds..

Yeah, this is very frustrating, nobody is answering, I even asked Jeff Rubenstein and he said he didn't know. Many people have asked on the PlayStation Blog when they posted the contest but it was too late and nobody is answering the questions. The guy who posted doesn't have a twitter, only a linked but you need an upgraded account to send him a message.

well i guess im going to try it. I have music from a royalty free source, which is 100 percent not copyrighted, and if they disqualify me for it, so be it i guess

I got it! Contacted PlayStation via twitter about this, and they said that as long as it has no copyright in it, you can use it! AWESOME!

Good to know, but do you have like a screen shot or can you post what you said exactly to them and what they posted to you? And where do you get your music that has 100% no copyright?

no screenshot, but I found a post on @PlayStation that said, "Update: You have until December 15th to enter to win an ultra-rare Ratchet & Clank arcade cabinet", Then i replied to it: "are we allowed to use our own music as long as it is 100% copyright and royalty free?". Got a DM response about 2 hours later saying "yep". So I assume that is a legit answer. I got my music from http://freeplaymusic.com/, but another good site is http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/
