FFA is being made by Insomniac ONLY for the 10th Anniversary of R&C. They did it entirely as fanservice, which is why it's smaller. Their North Carolina studio is working exclusively on R&C games, so don't worry, there'll be another big game soon (maybe as a PS4 launch title).

The trailer says an old enemy is coming back, so I'm betting Tachyon is back. Either that or the guy from the first game.
James Stevenson of Insomniac games already confirmed that it's not one of the main villains from any of the other games.
On a side note, I got into this beta, and I want to note that anybody else who gets in is not allowed to say anything about the game, unless it's at the FFA Beta forum at insomniacgames.com. It's part of the usual Non-Disclosure Agreement situation. It'll warn you this when you first load up.
