This trick requires the Taunter Gun, the ability to race a Hoverboard, the Bolt Magnet, and the Hologuise.  Go to Blackwater City and enter the race in Hologuise form --- you can walk the track without racing.  Run down the track until you find the platform with a pyramid of boxes on it, way above your head. There should be a small ramp to the left that you need to stand on.  Take out the Taunter and face the direction on the platform of boxes above your head.  Hold Circle and the gun should break the boxes out of sight and bolts should continue to drop.  Keep the button pressed --- the boxes immediately respawn after they are out of sight.  You can get an unlimited number of bolts if you allow the game to idle in this state.

You could also go to Planey Kerwan. During the game, just go straight, and somewhere along the way on that level, there will be a little bridge. Jump down on that bridge and there will be a highway of cars that are going by. Just go into first person mode and try and hit the cars. I believe that you get 5 bolts every car you hit.

Change the camera angle so that you as a viewer are standing where the boxes are, and Ratchet is facing you.  This takes the boxes out of your viewable area, although presumably Ratchet can see them.  Once out of sight (from you, not Ratchet) they automatically respawn.  Put a weight on the circle button, like a shoe full of D cell batteries.  That should be enough to hold down the button.

,

Do this just before going to sleep.  Leave the PS2 on and turn the TV off.  Wake up, turn on the TV and save the game.  Turn the TV off.  Now go to work/school.  Come home and turn on the TV.  Save the game again.  You should have more than enough bolts to buy anything and everything required.

Re: forgot all about it

Did ya know that you can just stand under the plaform that the boxes are and fire the taunter and the bolts will come.
My favorite station for all the hits from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, today and tomorrow is 109.9 The Big Frog with the least talk in the morning, the most talk in the afternoon, time on the 9s, and the Flap Jackson Radio Program from 9 to 11 in the morning. Quack Quack!!!

Yes, but you will receive much less than if you're standing on the ramp off to the left.  When you're underneath the platform, quite a bit of the bolts will simply land up there and never come down.  After a while, you'll have so many bolts stuck up there, that you won't be able to differentiate one from the other.  You can use the Suck Cannon to get some of them down, but you'll still have several thousand still up there in the end.
