Re: MMORPG?

There are a few. Two of the most well-known MMORPGs on the PlayStation Store are available to play completely free. The only problem that some people have with these games is that if you are to play them free then you won't get trophies from the games. However, it being more like a try-before-you-buy setup, the offers on DC Universe Online and Free Realms can give you a good insight toward playing the games without paying the subscription. Should you later choose that you really like either one then it's a good jumping point to pay from a few bucks up to about $30 per month to extend your lifespan with the games.

Other MMORPGs known to the PlayStation 3 would include the likes of The Agency and Final Fantasy XIV. Where The Agency has since gone on to cancellation, Final Fantasy XIV hasn't released for the platform yet... but supposedly the game is still underway. If you're looking to play a Massive RPG game right now the ones mentioned above would be your best bet. For later stick a reminder next to Final Fantasy XIV's upcoming journey to brave the breadth of another larger-scaled Fantasy.

You might also want to look at White Knight Chronicles II. As it'is very "MMOish". By that I mean it plays like Guild Wars with its "lobbies" and instanced quests.
Theres the ability to build your own town complete with shops, house, NPCs, etc.
Great character customization and skill trees, and practically endless combinations of abilities.
No PvP though, if thats your thing, you'll have to look elsewhere
The single player campaign feels very MMOish as well.

Its not a true MMO, but its holding me over until FFXIV.

Re: MMORPG?

I agree with everything said in prior posts. I am thoroughly enjoying my time with White Chronicles 2  (on and off line) . It has an mmorpg feel to it. Smal but active online community adds alot to the enjoyment. Nice, friendly , helpful people are about all thats left playing now. Most have been playing since its release, so that says alot about the longeveity. Creating and customizing your time will take literally months.

Although not mmorpgs, you mentioned playstation store. I believe there are two games that may interest you as well. I havent played either but here positive things about both. Dungeon defenders and dungeon hunters alliance (may have that name wrong ). both are downloadable online games. I  believe they are in the $12 range. Good luck finding somethng you enjoy.
