Corrupted Data Found after Sing Star Viewer froze PS3

Just tonight I was using the Sing Star Viewer utility to view my existing media gallery content and to look at purchasing a few new songs.  i was trying to play some of my saved videos but they wouldn't play, although some did but there didn't seem to be any consistency to the ones that did or didn't.  In the process of selecting a video to delete (one of the ones that wouldn't play) the Sing Star Viewery Utility froze.  This is after having just updated to 5.14.  The controller was completely unresponsive, and I had to power the system off.

Now when I go into the Sing Star viewer, it tells me that "Corrupted data has been found on the HDD and has been deleted.  Press x to rebuild this data."  Almost all of my saved media now doesn't display an icon and I have yet to be able to find a video that plays properly.  I had over 163 saved videos and if I had to guess I probably have about 13 that are playable still.  The pressing X to rebuild doesn't seem to do a damn thing.

Now, I've loved Sing Star since day one.  But this makes me very sad as a lot of those videos were taken with friends who are now over 3,000km away.  I really can't justify spending any more money on Sing Star tracks if everything can be lost in the blink of an eye so easily.  I've had no other problems with my HDD, and no indications that this is a hardware fault.

So tell me Sony, how are you going to fix this so that it doesn't happen again and I can trust your software once more?  I accept that what I had is most likely gone baby gone.  I just don't know what the point would be to bother saving any further performances if I can't trust the software to retain them.

Re: Corrupted Data Found after Sing Star Viewer froze PS3

Have you tried restoring the file system via the PS3, or just rebuilding the database? I used the link below to make my system run a bit faster and have less skipping with data.  There are a few caveats when using the system tools, like your inbox being nuked and playlists will be lost as well.  Just read the warnings in the post.
