Since the latest update the sing store has been very unstable. It continually crashes due to connection errors while loading menus. It makes using the store almost impossible. Cart items disappear, pictures fail to load. I pretty much gave up buying new songs

You could be suffering from file corruption,  I had problems with singstar where it would take what felt like days to load up and I did the restore database and filesystem which caught some corrupt files, which has made my system run a bit faster lately.  I used the directions found below. Be aware that these steps will nuke your inbox and some other thing, but all your data is left alone.
