Sly 4 Demo

18 replies 5220 views Edited Aug 26, 2012

So I got an early copy of the Sly 4 demo, apparently some retailers where I live like Walmart and Bestbuy moved the release date of the game to the 21st instead of the 28th.

I'm playing it now, I'll update this thread but ask away any questions if you have any.

So far, it looks and feels like a Sly Cooper game. Sly seems more talkative though compared to the first few games.

I love how you can change costumes to change into a robin hood version of sly with "L2". I don't know if thats been in the series before, since I haven't finished sly 3; but its fun and easy to aim with the bow and arrow they provide you with.

For the most part the gameplay hasnt changed, its only added new things like the costumes I think. Except when you die or fall down, it backwards in time like "SSX" where it goes backwards to your last position and takes a chunk out of your health meter.

I think Sly's voice actor has changed. Or, atleast his voice has changed abit. Its not too noticeable but it sticks out on some cutscenes.

Anyways, I finished the demo, it only showcased the platforming gameplay, no enemies whatsoever, within a circus. The goal was to find Sir Galleth. Not too bad.

Sanzaru games know what they are doing with the platforming, its not overly complicated but provides somewhat of a challenge (especially to newcomers to the series).

People who haven't played a sly game before may experience some difficulty with the demo, veterans will breeze through it.

Having played Sly 1, 2 & 3 I breezed through the Playable Demo, it was fun & i can't want to Play Sly 4 in Feb 2013!

I too think at least one, if not two of the voices has changed, they just sound different, I suppose I'll get used to them though.

I'm a HUGE Sly fan. The original 3 PS2 games were my childhood :smileyhappy:

Glad you like the demo

Oh, by the way, Sly's voice actor is the same as previous games. His name is Kevin Miller
