Nope. The tech from BF3 allowed you to fly from ground to space without cutscenes, giving you full control at all times. In ES you flight to a point then you go to a cutscene, then you get to fly in space. The ES version was nothing more then a cheep, failed knock-off of what Free Radical developed. Free Radical said that the engin that they developed to do that was dropped with the company. So if we're ever going to see that again the new developer will have to create and develop their own engin, physics, and coding from scratch to make such gameplay possible.

Lucasarts has money, hell they are rolling in money. They could pay for the development of a new engine.

Slant Six is rumored to be making Battlefront: Online. Which I seriously hope LA is not trying to pass off as BF3. I'm a huge fan of Star Wars and Star Wars games because of the stories, if LA tries to pull an online only shooter I'm not likely to buy it. It's mainly the story of BF2 that makes me like it more then the first, I loved going through story mode and getting a huge amount of background information on the Clones during the two major wars of the Rise of the Empire and Rebellion eras.
Did you ever beat the rebels at that planet with the midget wookies? I played SW:BF2 religiously, just now I forget their names :B
I ask because that was the only scenerio I could never win, playing as the Empire.

Personally, I'd like to see a new Battlefront in the Call of Duty style of gameplay, just within the Star Wars Universe. Especially with online multiplayer with upgradeable weapons and armor.
I agree that a good story is needed for the main campaign. That was one of the best features of BF2. I didn't enjoy the space combat in BF2, mainly because of the weird control scheme. Plus, it looked like the space combat was really scaled down. Rogue Leader on the Gamecube had better space combat mechanics.

Thats the last thing this series needs.

yea hes right ,it was remade as Elite squadron (which was GREAT for a psp game)
but i think they need a Republic Commando (iknow it was xbox not ps) style game, with customizable units
essentially, they should take the narrative aspect of BF2, the cool layout of Republic Commando, the Jedi starfighter stargfighter layout, the force unleased graphics and the customization of the old republic (i know its not out yet but you get the idea) and wait for it....
Make an entire game generated-movie as an extra bonus, imagine that as an extra, a freeking game and a movie, im so sure this could be possible with Lucas Arts and Blu-ray, imagine it being a PS exclusive

So a cheap yearly cookie cutter FPS is what the series needs...................FAIL!
