  1. Why can't I get a kill with cluster bombs? These things suck! OP my @$$! They took a pretty serious nerf, but can still be effective. Just focus on landing as many of the bombs on your target as you can, and maybe throw in a bit of machine gun fire.
  2. OMG nobody grabbed the torpedo!
  3. I hate stomp - only when I'm not spamming it! muahahahaha! Just watch out for grenades and Bruiser.
  4. Really! You're going to steal my hawk after I *just* built a hawk pad! $%#!!@# you piece of $^&*! Some people are just like that.
  5. The Health Powerup gives you FULL health? Wow, is that cheap. I better make note of where all those are ... Very important to remember.

Re: Diary of a New Pilot

Yea I played death match all day today to learn how to fly. After 10 games of 5-30 I decided to call it a night.

So **bleep** hard to get good with a hawk when everyone else is so much better. (except for other noobs like me, but you can't get good with a hawk by just beating up noobs)

Re: Diary of a New Pilot

Unfortunately, I will likely not be on today. I planned to do some maintainance on my PS3, but I've run into an unexpected problem. I may come on later tonight, but there is no guaruntee.:mansad:

The more you use cluster bombs, the more you will realize that they are more than capable of destroying enemies.  I still feel dirty when I use them sometimes.  Sometimes :smileywink:

Re: Diary of a New Pilot

Day 2 -

Shout out to Bus_Driver for showing me the ropes today. That guy is awesome. Really got a better grip of how to fly thanks to him. You're a cool dude Bus_Driver. Hydro Chronic also jumped in later and I actually managed to kill each of them a few times. Who knew?

(For the record, Bus Driver pwned me 99.7% of the time)

Things I learned today from my first flight lesson -

  • Oh, so you push R3 to use CHAF? Go figure.
  • Power gliding.
  • Flak is the shotgun of flight.
  • Swarm missles are used to reheat stale food. Nothing more.
  • Homing missle is my hommie.
  • Spin to win? Yea right!
  • Power gliding.
  • Scrubbing
  • "So there's a CHAF bar? Huh. Go figure.
  • Hit Back and X and get a missle to the face! :smileyvery-happy:
"Best fun you'll ever have for $8. Next!" - What my drill sergeant said after I threw my first grenade.

You have to watch that canned dodge backflip because that homer to the face is normally waiting for you. Now just practice and try to keep from getting killed when you first take off.

Good to hear bus was a good mentor. If only I could've been there...

Should the next lesson be in squadron combat aka coordinated dogfights?

Re: Diary of a New Pilot

I will be on tomorrow afternoon, if my PS3 doesn't have any more surprises for me.
