That would be a big ,slow target.
Just like the tank is already.
But I would be ok if we gave the tank mech a rechargable shield, it would be like the beta hawk shield so you could also provide cover for a couple team mates if they are near enough to you.
The tank mech could also have roller rocket boots which only allow it to strafe a small amount to dodge homers and MAWs.
Like the armored core mechs, just short little boosts.
To balance this out the tank mech would only have one of the tank weapons, I'm not sure which though. Probably the straight shot.
We could just add hover mode; press square while in the air to change...
No, actually you couldn't...if you have a jetpack pressing square makes you jump out
...and most of the other buttons are taken, so something would have to go.
I also thought of something like this for that AstroHawk idea I had last month or so. In my idea I changed L2 to hover.
I think they should just make a mech platform...
How about a Voltron type of deal?
You get a few guys in sidewinders, one in a tank, one is a hawk, and two guys in grizzlies.
Once they all get together and all hold down select while pressing R1 they would form like Voltron!
Hawk would be the head, tank is the body, sidewinder legs/boots, grizzly arms!
One max per team at a time, they would not be able to enter enemy home bases. Imagine the battles at the center of the map.
We better see some more types of games like this, so much potential to be had.
Oops. Accidental solution.
BUT BRILLIANT! no lag either because nothing extra is being used.
What if a player exits their vehicle?
I was thinking about that kinda.
when fired on the portions hit are all that is damaged, if one section is destroyed the whole thing falls apart, the individual vehicles continue on their way.
Same if someone exits a vehicle, it causes everything to fall apart, but not take damage.
Just imagine what it would look like roaming around, the arms would be doing their own thing facing odd angles and firing in all directions, while the head steers the whole unit but can only fire certain weapons, not sure which just yet.
Then an ironman type chest blaster the tank driver would use, it would be crazy seeing all the explosives flying out of it and what-not.
But what would the sidewinder drivers be doing to keep busy? Maybe instead of sidewinder feet, a single razor back would act like tank treads controlled by the hawk head, and the razorback driver would just mount his MG turret?
This would make it faster then the tank, but not be able to jump.
It would look like Bowser or DonkeyKong in mario cart.
