The first order of business is addressing 'what is what is starhawk?'

A third person shooter?
A real time strategy?
A flight simulator?
A big ol' playground?

I'd call it an addictive TPS with a side of RTS seasoned with a dash of TD.

Or to borrow a meme from the 90s, 'All your turret farms belong to me'.  :smileyvery-happy:

Now Samo, take all of what you just said, and play on Glade or Outlands.

And as for the turrets, those are easy to counter. Turrets are not 100% effective and cannot always lock on to players. If you run in patterns(or fly), they will not get you. Which is how im so good at squeezing into bases when we play on community night.

It is like they made starhawk to where you HAVE to play abnormaly to win. Ex. Running and jumping in patterns, jumping to kill, spinning to win, etc. And alot of people dont understand that starhawk has background mechanics that they may never find.

Heres my motto:
"Blitz abnormaly, or be mancaked."

And at the end of the game, the game is determined by who has more hawks up.

Tanks, Ground troops, are irrelevant other than if they are objective players which we really only need about 2-4 guys on the ground.

Ofcourse this wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for BnB and if they just used the Warhawk Style.

I concur. There are tricks and skills the player himself have to find. And that way you counter auto turrets is only one of 7 effective ways to decimate a turret farm. That could be an advanced 2 person tactic a learned team could coordinate to turn the tides in their favor.

'Abnormality' isn't something i'd attune to that though. Maybe if you're just the one person trying by yourself to fit into the master mold of the ever changing tactics of your teammates. The counter play in Magic the Gathering is how you as a player react to your opponent's actions, if a clan were synchronised, you aren't alone anymore, you are part of a collective.

Gs, i must disagree only up to the argument that flight in general have pretty broken mechanics that can be easily exploited. The beam turrets have taken out freakyevil, and he has had moments where 5 pilots couldn't peg him.

Proper coordination would make 5 pilots redundant anyway, as team building excersises should prepare for that kind of situation.

This is only a theory. Maybe a hypothesis. But if i can get a team of 16 I know I can come up with some cool team tactics and ideas to take on even some legends :smileytongue:

Haha.

That would be interesting. Call me up if you ever manage to do something like that.

Re: Gaming mechanics in Starhawk: A look at mechanics in games and their place in SH.

IMO samo enthusiast has a point. A short and smart arsed point but 1 nonetheless. Nobody is unkillable regardless of what they think but even I could run stealth and shield and with an outnumbered team take on 16 (In TDM) . CTF is a little more difficult and requires ground guys that know what they're doing but that game can be won from above as well in the right situations.
Basically what I'm saying is that strategy is a key point in this game, you and I had this convo before, but the mechanics that are broken that really sway the game is in flight. I suspect that's why you see certain people only in the air. The hawk doesn't determine 100% of all games its in but in the right hands it comes dam close and that's because of how broken it is. Ill be an honest pilot here and say it's easily exploited to the point at which I can be almost invisible with stealth and shield and while using those can cluster bomb the opposing team into the ground. BT and FT's are somewhat of a defense but that's where the obvious TJ comes in and those only lure you into a false sense of security right before i swoop back in under stealth and CB you.
I'm rambling a little here but you get the point. :smileyhappy:
