I think that the sidewinders should get a chaff comparable to the hawk chaff in recharge time.  

This would at least give them one chance to break a lock considering the splash damage on the MAW seems to still kill you even if you jump off and run away once the rocket is launched.

That is all.

EDIT:  This is under the assumption that the MAW lock-on for the sidewinder is here to stay.

I third this idea. SW went from one my favorite vehicles to least favorite over night. The sad thing is every time one goes by me I forget that you can lock on to em. My girlfriend actually reminded me to lock on while I was fighting one on foot and the thought never crossed my mind.

Every vehicle needs to be able to be locked-on by the MAW or none of them.

If nothing is done about the lock-ons, something needs to be added so the sidewinders can dodge.

I am open to other ideas.  Someone PM'd me saying we should have an "evade maneuver".  I think this might be too much.  The one chaff with a re-charge the time the same as the hawk's chaff at least gives you that ONE chance to get off the SW and fight on foot.  By giving an evade it would basically 100% cancel the SW lockon addition.

Or a shield you can only put up a split second ( so you really have to time it ) that also requires a recharge time.

or just no lock on seeing how the grizzly makes quick work of a sw anyways now.
