If memory serves, this was a limited time offer on discounted content. Some items were free (such as the single-player campaign and the soundtrack) while others were not. The offer ran through October, so if you weren't a member then that was the time to be one for anything that struck your fancy.
^ this is the solution!

Oh well.
guess I shoulda bought the DLC and such back when I played the single-player campaign then.
for what it is worth, the Multiplayer is still 20 bucks by itself.
You either keep your plus running or just pony up the $5 for the grizzly, its the only DLC worth buying in my opinion.
To each their own though.

oh I am not giving up my PS Plus anytime soon. It's just not showing the DLC as being free anymore, it's back to regular price even for PS Plus members.
s'all good, I'll just have to buy it, since i missed out on the deals.

My plus runs out soon, I thought the end of Oct but its still going. No way will I keep it going.
I have been buying stuff on PSn since it launched and so am the worse person to get Plus, the free stuff is usually old stuff I already bought at full price.
I learned two lessons:
-Never buy anything from the PS Store as it will be very cheap or free soon enough.
-PS+ is for people new to PS3, and those who do not make any purchases on PSN.
PS+ kept giving me stuff I never wanted in the first place, but I would be like "hey now I can try that game out I never wanted in the first place" I always felt like I would not be getting my full value unless I downloaded and played everything they offered for free, in turn most of my disc based games have been neglected and some have never been played at all!!
Time to focus on my backlog and not free stuff I never wanted.
I am glad you enjoy it though, Cheers.

Hey, at least you weren't part of the suckers who bought PS+ thinkign you'd get to keep all the DLC after it expired. Whoops, their mistake, my money.
They also lied about the refund.
Great customer service! Maybe I'll ask LBI pete where my refund is.... oh wait.
Once my DLC expires with my PS+, so does my time with the game unfortunately. I'm a person of principal, and don't like getting lied to or accidently "misinformed" by the developers.
**bleep** pricks.
