Not as you think; there are different colored armors available, but you have to buy them separately

there's a lot of guns; but most of it is tiered (like I explained a few posts back). There are, however, 11 different "classes" of guns across three "types" (heavy, light, sidearm). All require their own skill training to use, except for militia varients.
Is there a ranking system?
Not really ATM; what is there isn't what you think. Its a basic leaderboard
next time you play hold down L2 in the spawn screen... thats your map in some modes, I beleive instant battles will be like what we have now though.
what are the diffrent servers names for?
instant battles: for thoose who just want to play, when EVE players want something seized but not by hiring a specific corp instant battles will be that server list.
mercaneary: you`ve been hired for a battle and this is how you connect to it.
corporation: clan vs clan.
thats from what I know from what I`ve been told, I was expecting something on the lines of that BUT a little diffrent.
