Re: Starhawkers' Opinion on DCUO?

It definitaly took a long time to download. But I did get into it pretty good for about 3 months. I would give it a shot but start downloading it when you go to bed.

Free access sucks. Premium doesnt get enough money or inventory space. Legendary ppl are losers that play it all day, everyday

The game is a space hog for sure.  But it is fun, I bought the disc when it released, had a lot of fun, had it's share of issues, but I hear most got fixed within the first year.  I had a lot of fun playing it.

Is it still fun without Premium Membership?

Longwinded response, sorry in advance.

It can be. There is a totally free membership, it allows you to have two character slots. Once you spend $10 I think, you get the next level up for membership which opens up more character slots and inventory slots. After spending this money you will never drop below a certain level of membership called premium I think. There are hundreds of microtransaction items. Here is how they get you, the game revolves around weapons, armor, inventory and modifying the stuff you have. In game currency is a concern, as a non-legendary player you get capped at 2000 credits and the rest goes into escrow. You need currency to get better stuff. Going legendary gives you an incredible amount of storage and an unlimited bank account limit. Going legendary also allows you to start your own league (clan).

By not going legendary you basically cap yourself out. But that doesn't mean it isn't fun. It is an RPG so there is never an upper limit and if someone finds it they develop more stuff, there are updates all the time. I think you can use a mic without being premium.

As a hardcore fan comic junkie I loved it at first then I saw flaws but still liked the game.

You can always try the free stuff and see if you like it.

I am updating my account tonight so if you happen to play let me know.

Do you have a mic? I think you are in the same clan as me.

I play. You need legendary for a mic. The money doesnt get in the way because no gear is over 2000$ a piece. Only when you need to repair armor and get supplies

one last thing about this game, be careful because if you like it, it is highly addicitive and can get expensive.

Likewise, I went legendary and I have a penchant for character customization so I got most of the skins and stuff. In total error I paid for the DLC's then went legendary I kick myself for this all the time.
