Thinking of buying Starhawk.

I'm an old Warhawk player, but Starhawk has called to my attention lately(Thanks to Playstation All Stars Battle Royale), but as I've been reading lately, the community seems to be dying. It's Twisted Metal all over again. I don't want to be buying a great game that in the end, the online will be failing just cause there aren't enough people, or patches etc.

Any recommendation?

I plan on playing as long as there are servers up and running.

You will find that the community is not as large as Warhawk.  We are however fairly tight knit and what you will see on the forum does not neccessarily reflect what you will experience in-game. We have fan boys, haters, die-hards, you name it and lots of varied opinions here about anything that is Starhawk.

There are lots of WH vets that hate Starhawk, quite a few that like it/love it too.  I personally recommend you give it a shot!  The game is not overpriced at this point like it certainly was at release.  This is definitely a title that you need to try for yourself to form an opinion of it.

*EDIT

In addition don't expect any patches or future DLC.  The developer LBI was laid off and the game is in the hands of Santa Monica Studios now,  they have not expressed any interest in adding or patching anything else. The game is what it is.

Well, thanks all for the feed back. I'll sure make a quick decision soon. I'll probably get it in due time.

Thanks again. :smileyhappy:

There are still servers going.  Just like in warhawk.

The in-game community is still pretty active.  There are typically 3-5 dozen different servers going at any time for Starhawk with about 6 of them being fairly full 32 player servers.  this is @ 9pm-midnight eastern time.

You can check out the Starhawk Wednesdays stickied thread and some of the other community event threads from recent events to see the community itself is still pretty active.   Several people set up events all the time and we always get participation.

I'm obviously going to say buy the game, I love it and got over 500 hours of enjoyment between retail and beta testing and I still enjoy playing.

Dont listen to what you hear or read on the internet. I could be a 40 year old man playing Starhawk with voice changer on....no jokes aside....

The community isnt dying. Its pretty functional to me. I see servers all the time.

First off, the game is terrible. If you liked Warhawk, odds are your going to hate this **bleep** of a game.

I made a $20 bet with this man that he wouldn't be able to sell the game. This game is so terrible that even with $20 on the line, I'm still willing to pimp out his auction.

Re: Thinking of buying Starhawk.

If you hate fun, this game is not for you, see a post or two above for evidence.

Be prepared though, this forum has a bunch of people who do not even own the game which come here to..... Actually I have no idea why they come here, some people are just lonely I suppose.

Quick guys argue with them so they feel like part of the community!!
