out of all the other competitive multiplayer games i know, this is the most interesting in long terms. it's unique. currently there is nothing similar out there.
i would also be interested in playing twisted metal but the fact that it took so long to actually get into a game and then you have at least one guy flying or driving a truck ruined it for me.

I too have found no other games which interest me.
Sony has been letting its first party games slide in quality, sadly even Starhawk has fallen into this category in many aspects.
I remember readings how Sony was going to support 3D in all its "Big" games from like a year or so ago. I gues they dont consider Starhawk a "Big deal".
Games have been launching with extreme bugs then requirinmg huge day one patches, etc.
I remember when PS3 exclusive meant you would get a game beyond the quality of any other game out there.
The Killzone 2, MGS4's, the Motorstorms and the Drakes Fortunes.
I hold extreme hope that the Last of Us can meet expectations, but they are so high I'm not sure that is possible.
Thats probably the reason behind it all. Those games from years ago have set my expectations so high it is unlikely any game currently possible could ever reach them.
Though even with its problems Starhawk is still easily the best game to release this year. Its the game that always leaves me wanting one more game. The loadouts and maps allow you to play so differently its almost like playing a new game.
Starhawk is great, and I dont see any multiplayer game coming to PS3 anytime soon which can take its place.
Its the PS3's Halo IMO.

I totally agree with the above comments.
Being exclusive used to mean something. Starhawk should have been a "flagship" game and who knows, if the game got another six months or so it could have been.
I would say Starhawk needed more of a single player game to be the "Halo" for the PS3. I would think Resistance and Killzone series would be a better fit for that title but then again it's online modes was not always that consistent.
I'm not a Halo or other-box player but going on what I have read Halo's on-line was always pretty strong.
Huge day one patches, or worse, waiting months for patches makes me wonder if Sony even pays for a quality department anymore. Seems shipping a game is more important than shipping a working game.
Now that Sony's credit rating is listed as "junk" I hope things don't get worse in 2013.
