Hey guys!
I only have a minute to post this, but I was thinking about all the times that I've really needed a vehicle but the build limit was maxed, and I had an interesting idea!
What if there was a way to spawn a vehicle without having to spawn its corresponding building first?
Essentially, if you press and hold L1 while in the B&B menu, it swaps to a "vehicle" wheel that allows you to place single vehicles in the same manner as a building, but without the building (if this makes sense). It would cost the same as if the building came with it (for example, dropping a tank would still cost 10 Rift), and so it would actually be less economical than using an existing spawner, but it would allow you instant access to vehicles even when the build limit is reached. This could also reduce the amount of vehicle spawners that get scattered across the map.
Perhaps this could be available to everyone, or perhaps it could be tied to some skill called something like "special delivery" or "custom order".
What do you guys think? If you'd like this, be sure to bump it so LBI_Pete might notice ![]()

sounds nice (reminds me of Dust514) I assume you place the vehicles ghost and it apeares, or drop pods in? (the ghost of a vehicle was where the vehicle would spawn, it was holographic white when no vehicles were in its place,, it was in the public beta).

I've tried finding ways to bypass the building limits to accomplish goals, like with several vehicle ideas that are able to do the jobs of certain buildings. This one is cool, as it bypasses the need for a bunch of spawners. If this were to be put in with a few other things, bases would not need to be so building hungry, and forward bases might actually become practical.

I sure hope they consider this. I also think that the extra Rift cost would be a good idea, as this would reduce how many bike-racks get scattered around the map, while still make more expensive vehicles like tanks mostly only come from the bases.

Yeah, I was picturing it with a hologram like the buildings, but I was thinking that it would still use that great "falling from the sky" animation like the buildings as well. The only difference would be that when the dust settles that would be the vehicle there instead!
Also, I think I heard that they could do this in early beta, but I assumed that it was some type of special developer code or something. Was it available as a part of the main game? Do anyone know where there's a video of this? I"m curious.
Also, does anyone know why they took it out? I'd love to hear LBI_Pete's take on this...

It removes part of the teamwork aspect of the game. In CTF you have to collaborate with your team, or at least one person on it, as the flag carrier to make sure you can get outta the enemy team's base while still defending your own on a limited build budget. The way it is works, it sucks getting caught without a vehicle but there's no need to fix it for convenience alone.
Really, cause all I see are random guys running in and trying to grab the flag and get out. With the skill, they sacrifice turret jammer or engine mods so they can escape without hindering the team's building capacity. Seems team-based in my book.

Or, they could have freed up major space on that 32 structure limit by making one garage spawn all vehicles.
