This game sounds like a winner!
It's pretty evident that there's a lot to do in this game, and not a short 10-15hr
game. One of the things I loved about Red Dead Redemption was that there was
so much to do in it. Hunting animals, leisure and card games, hogtying humans
and animals, duels and side missions. etc. A very wide variety of things to do.
Back to Dead Island. If there's a whole lot of things to do in the game, even if the
story itself and cutscenes aren't detailed as they maybe should have been, the
variety, action, animation detail and suspense can make up for
a somewhat unimmersive story.
just note, Dead island has no plot, it's just about a group of people who happen to get caught up in a zombie outbreak, and know have to fight for their survival, while trying to figure out a way off the island. The game really has no story.
Just make sure you do side missions and stuff, side missions take up the majority of time, if you only do story missions, you can beat it in under 10 hours. There is a good bit of stuff to explore, there are 4 maps, one with a couple variations. each map is a good size. there are weapon mods scattered through the game for you to find, as well as mission rewards, and there are also the developer mods you can find (they are hidden, you need to return skulls to their right place to earn one.) The game has a new game plus, so you can start a new game with the same character you beat it with, you keep all items (except skulls) all levels, all skills, you keep everything except missions and skulls.
It's a good game, lots of stuff you can do.
I plan to get to Walmart, later this week sometime. If I get a chance to pick
it up, I'll giver er a grab. I'll also come back here to let you know.
I just couldn't get the feel for Dead Nation. Downloaded it last
year for free, after the outage.
I haven't played RDR online for quite a while. I'm still riding a donkey. lol
Did get through the single player game twice, and loved it!
Next time I'm on, I'll add you.
