My favorite survival horror video game is Silent Hill 2. I think this video game is a masterpiece. No other survival horror video games that I have played have been able to capture as unsettling of an atmosphere as the one in Silent Hill 2. Some titles have certainly come close though.

I'd agree with SP13 that the silent hill series is one of the best.

The Silent Hill HD collection is totally worth a purchase!

Fatal Frame is the scariest, Silent Hill has the best atmosphere, Resident Evil has the best storyline.

My favorite survival horror game is Half-Life. I didn't think I'd ever make out of the planet. Crazy monsters and AI getting killed left and right, it was amazing.

I liked this one game for GameCube about a chick getting her uncle's house then reads books and u play through what she reads also u can go bat nut crazy in the game and hallucinate lol like it turns your.TVs sound down.but it's just a hallucination

Silent Hill 1 and 2 with Resident Evil 2 being a close second.

Thinking back, I don't think that anything has ever quite compared to Silent Hill 2.

I dunno why people Split Horror into two Areas... Survival & Action... To me, you can't have both, there is no Survival / Action, you either have 1.) Horror, or 2.) Action, there is no combination of the two... Thats just me... But in any case... Here is my list...

1.) Fatal Frame / Dead Space = Camera / Cinematic Suspence 

2.) Silent Hill / Siren               = Flashlight / Close Encounters Suspence 

3.) Aliens Vs. Predator           = Heart Pounding Suspenceful Horror

4.) Dead Nation                    = Realistic Skyview Atmasphere with Creepy Effects 

I'd say Resident Evil, but I gotta hand it to Dead Nation, they really out did themself on that one... 

Dead Nation is the New Resident Evil in my Opinion... 

Alone In The Dark i'm sure is in there somewhere, just haven't really thought of where, just yet...

Maybe more comming soon, I dunno... We'll see... oO
