Re: 1999 Mode for TLoU?

I've yet to play bioshock infinite Smiley Sad but I definitly am hoping for a true survivor type of extremely challenging gameplay, that makes every decision huge since you're just barely getting by. But I've never been a fan of the limiting saves idea, I've always found that frustrating in the Dead Space games where a stupid quick time event sent me back 3 chapters (or back to chapter 1 in DS3 hardcore where I swear I'm going to break my controller if I attempt that again) - I find that more frustrating than tense. No checkpoints during a chapter might be cool though.

^ it's essentially a harder difficulty level, that harkens back to a time where games where games were very unforgiving. In this mode, enemies are a lot tougher, ammo is scarce, and the game doesn't tell you where to go next.

1999 mode is just like a harder version of the game. Sort of like Crushing mode in Uncharted.

Also, that's pretty crazy about unlocking 1999 mode early. I had no idea. Smiley Surprised

To the folks who have not played Bioshock Infinite, I just finished the game and... I'm telling you it is one of the many games of this console generation that you just CANNOT miss. I rank this game right up there with U2, RDR, Souls games, Arkham city, heavy rain etc as one of the best. And do your very best not to check any youtube videos about this game as a lot of folks are already discussing the games story and ending on the comments section. The ending of the game is easily one of the best i could remember and the journey to get there is just as good. So play it! You won't be disappointed.

I would love a 1999 mode or a NG+ on this game too. But I feel that ND's take on this one will be the crushing mode we are all familiar of.

Any kind of additional difficulty mode, that really tests the player's metal, will be awesome. Something to test a true survivor's skill, that encourages scavenging, stealth and patience.

And if you have't picked up Bioshock Infinite, go get it, worth every penny.

Joel: That's alright. I believe him.

I probably get the game someday, but it's definitely going to be for PC. I just can't enjoy FPS games on consoles. I also get higher fps, graphics, and better controls.

As for the 1999 mode, it sounds cool, so I have nothing against it.
