Sup guys.

Still new interviews being uploaded from PAX it seems..

This one on particular has some more interesting gameplay.

For example it seems there is a counter..

And it seems also infected can get you on the ground and keep slapping you!

Is there more info you can summarize? I knew about the counter, but not about the slapping infected. I can't access the video over my network.

^

Well as you might have known, the infected can grab you,

Well at the end of the video instead of grabbing you,

The infected can also jump on you and you fall on the ground,

the runner is onto you and he keeps slapping you.

I Assume you have to Spam square button to escape like the other grabs.

Also, I saw an infected (looked like a semi-clicker) grab Joel even when Joel wasn't stunned. I suppose that is not a very dangerous (damaging) grab. And when Joel pushed him off, he slammed on other Runners and knocked them back.

Interesting he said that this part of the game isn't until chapter 3, for the infected reveal. I'm glad the infected aren't going to be thrown in our face from the very beginning.

As for the slapping, I'm SO glad we have a sprint option. Dead Space 3 made me rage quit so many times over those little reapers and their slapping spam - since there was no true sprint those **bleep**ers got annoying fast. I'm hoping the runners won't be the same way. Gameplay wise they seem to share those same characteristics.

Running away, turning back, shooting then running again isn't a standard strategy in Dead Space 3. I actually liked it. This strategy might work well on games with fairly limited fire power, like TLOU seems to be or even how Bioshock Infinite might get.

But ammo is generally plenty in Dead Space 3. You're supposed to mostly stand your ground, since you have a big liberty in crafting awesome weapons and it's easy to have ammo for them. Just use lots of knockback effects. And I should probably say I don't play on Hardcore Mode :smileytongue:

I made a stasis coated gatling gun with stasis coated force gun attachment and still ragequit all throughout chapter 14 :smileylol:

I was playing on impossible though.

Did I just saw an auto target lock? Remind me of Kingdom Hearts, and I certainly don't want that in a realistic survival game.
