Symbology in Last of Us

9 replies 260 views Edited Dec 23, 2013
Has anyone else noticed the spooky symbols of "pentagrams" in a few locations of this game? I have played this game 7 times and noticed in round 4 that there was a pentagram located on the outside of Joel's house in the beginning when the outbreak occurs. The 2nd location was in the tavern/restaurant that burns down while Ellie and Michael fight to the death. The markings were located on the floor and part of the design of the rug. Has anyone else come across other symbols? Also, is there a way I can contact Naughty Dog to request for them to remove the symbols? (Ex. Through a patch). Those pentagrams freak me out and I love this game a lot but I don't feel right playing it with those Masonic images on there.

LOL The symbol in the rug in Todd's restaurant isn't a pentagram it's the Lone Star of Texas since Todd's restaurant was a steak house before the infection. Oh and Ellie fights to the death with David not Michael as for other symbol's in the game I really hadn't noticed. I'll keep my eyes open for them in my next play through.

Masonic's definitely DO NOT have anything to do with pentagram     i'm going to go back and look but i don't recall seeing one   i did see anarchy symbols and similar but no pentagram    pentagram has 2 points sticking up and they are pointing left and right and 1 sticking straight down and 2 sticking out left and right

This is the most ridiculous post. Getting freaked out by things that aren't even there and that you don't even understand. Masonic lol. Also how can you think Davids name is Michael if you have played it 7 times?

Pentagrams have been associated with a few tribes and cults over time. It was used by early Christians, then masons, and so on. ND didn't put it in to symbolise anything, it means nothing.

If anyone will verify, you can see the five-pointed star inside the circle, a "Pentagram", at the beginning of the game. As Joel and Sarah run outside the house and get into Tommy's truck, as Sarah controlling the game at thus point, turn around to look at Joel's house. The pentagram is hanging outside the front of the house.
