I guess the fact that you prefer UC2 as a game has clouded your judgment  then.

 

From a technical standpoint, its no comparison at all. Go check digital foundry or perhaps your eyes just are special Smiley Tongue.

Regardless, Uncharted 3 and God of War Ascension are the greatest looking games due to their linear nature which allows for far greater attention to detail. If TLOU is greater, I have no idea! I havent played it. I sure hope it is up there with them but the chief editor of GameReactor doesnt think so (THUS FAR, remember hes only 4 hours in). But who gives a rats **bleep**. TLOU looks **bleep** beatiful too, he even said "top on consoles".

I truly adore UC2 as well and it is no doubt that it set the graphical jump for all games to follow it. It was the first real "Oh my **bleep** god, we're in next gen". Well Gears of War 1 on the 360 was a bit like that too I suppose.

Indeed, that simulated ocean and the technical marvel that is UC3 is nothing short of breathtaking.

UC3 does indeed have certain jaggies when it comes to aliasing at shadows. It is more noticable at certain parts but it is mostly because it is pushing the hardware to its limit. UC2 is not nearly as technical but I suppose certain people like the more plastic aethestic look of it. Who knows...

 

I think TLOU will be beautiful though, the lighting they showed at the recent demo is pretty spectacular and reminds me of the lighting in Cartagena of UC3. Then theres also Beyond Two Souls which looks fantastic. Lots of awesome games for us gamers :3 Playstation <3

Thanks for those gorgeous screenshots!

Some people here may think that I'm dissing ND in general, but the truth is that I try to be objective and that's why I give them credit for UC3 SP's graphics. Smiley Happy

If anyone here thinks that UC2 SP's graphics (not story) are better than UC3 SP's graphics, then he needs to visit an eye specialist ASAP. Smiley Tongue

Shadows and alpha blending (i.e. fog) are quite tricky in the current-gen consoles and unfortunately MLAA can't really help there.

They are rendered in a low resolution due to memory bandwidth constraints.

I was only impressed by those.

 

They all have something in common. I like night scenes and lighting.

 

I missed the night sand I know. Reminds me of how bad the Sand walk of hours was. Smiley Indifferent Couldn't pay attention to it, I fell asleep.

 

I'll give ND kudos for that,.

 

I dunno the rest of the game feels a lot brighter and more of an in your face daylight feel. I don't like that at all.

Ah I see. Personally I find it to be such a minor complaint when the entire game looks like the way UC3 does. It's just jaw dropping in all its essence.

I cant ******* sleep. Made a thread earlier about this, I am too hyped for TLOU xD

I'm still not sure how they thought walking for 15 minutes was good gameplay. That should have been a cutscene.

The desert is actually my favourite part of the game. Few games add an entire monolouge in form of a poem as one carries Drake just a few shoot outs before the worst scenario possible happens with Sully.

Felt really emotionally attached to Drake, that is probably why Smiley Happy. I got plenty of screens like those but I think we're going a bit off topic xD
