The Last of Us Cinematics question

2 replies 173 views Edited Jun 18, 2013

Is it just me...or do the cinematics in the game just feel like...they're just encoded movies? I'm basing this off of the load times for each cinematic, they seem non-existent like in Uncharted. But, it looks like, unlike Uncharted they seem like they're just small movies instead of actual in-game scenes. I don't know maybe I'm just paranoid but I would like someone to confirm that these scenes are being rendered in real-time, otherwise....I'm...just gonna keep playing it, but it doesn't hurt to know. Maybe it's my TV, maybe it's my brain making me crazy.

I'm gonna guess the silence means yes, it's real-time. Thanks for answering my question! Smiley Very Happy

They are pre rendered, as were the Uncharted ones. Look for texture boosts, and film grain, there's a significant boost in texture quality when a cutscene plays, and there's a noticeable amount of film grain.
