Can you not just pre-order one then show up at midnight on release instead of waiting for days?

The store doesn't have to be open in order for them to allow people to wait in line... Some of us enjoy waiting for the systems we enjoy playing on, geez dude. Lol.
Our best buy actually bought us pizza some nights and provided access to their bathrooms via security. No fights no thefts. It was good fun and I don't regret waiting for the ps3 since I've enjoyed every minute of owning it.
Nice. We also got restroom breaks but we didn't get any pizza.
People played football in the parking lot tho. We also had cops escort us to our vehicles after we bought the PS3. I remember driving home in a hurry just to go to bed. I didn't even open the PS3 till the next day. lol

Of course you could. But those of us who enjoy waiting aren't in it because its more convenient, we did it because it was fun. One if the guys in line next to me had a projector and would play movies on the best buy walls for everyone.
Oh cool. Well that's a nice sense of community I suppose ![]()

I swear I don't know who to believe. To many rumors about the PS4. I guess we have to wait for Sony's event this month or E3.

Hope so because right now the PS4 is almost certainly going to use the mediorce AMD A10 CPU/GPU (all in one chip). I'm not sure if it could emulate the Cell with software. Remember the PS2 had the same thing and it was at the bottom of graphics and power.
The latest leaks say that it will use a single GPU (Radeon R10xx). It's a next gen GPU that doesn't even exist in the PC realm right now.
The PS2 could not be emulated because it had a really fast eDRAM bus (48GB/s). The PS4 will have 176GB/s of memory bandwidth.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand what that means? lol

I researched the R10xx and it's not really new or exactly "nex gen". Basically it's a modified AMD 7950 Mobile gpu which is designed for laptops.
