So you take it out on The Last of Us? I don't like the current state were in, but we're slowly starting to see a change. Im glad the online passes are starting to die down.

QTEs, online passes, DLC, tacked on multiplayer, interactive movies, scripted events, linearity, presentation over gameplay, focus on story over gameplay, focus on graphics over gameplay, etc., those are some of the worst things in gaming ever.

Well, The Last of Us might possibly be the most overrated video game in existence. Maybe even more than CoD, Halo, MGS4, Gow series, etc.

HOW can I go about getting these kinds of video games to die, and for the kinds of video games I love to come back? Why can't I get proper turn based JRPGs on home console anymore?

Is there something more productive I can do to kill off "video games" such as this?

Lol. I'm not even going to waste my time or energy replying back to all of that b.s.

P.S. the MP is not tacked on in the least bit. Have you even played TLoU? I can you as a Xbox Fanboy who felt jealous so he's trolling the forums.

What exactly makes TLoU an interactive movie... it doesn't even have that much QTE. Please enlighten me.

Anyway, my list for this generation would consist of Uncharted 2, Batman: AA, Batman: AC, RDR & TLoU. Won't put them into any order.

I was positive a year ago Hitman: Absolution would definitely be on a list like this considering the fact Blood Money lasted six years for me. Oh how wrong I was though... I played Absolution for two days and was done with it.

Uhhhm, why would I be an Xbox fanboy? Why would anyone? They don't have any games. They also are severely lacking in Japanese games. Also, western games suck, so why would I like Xbox?

Anyhow, nothing I said is BS. It's all true. Naughty Dog and their supporters are all the real trolls for ruining the video game industry for people like me.

Walking while talking / scripted events, linearity, set pieces, QTEs, escort mission, huge emphasis on story and often over gameplay

(usually a combination of most or several of those)

Easily in my top five, MGS4 and the Uncharted series would also be in there.

I haven't beaten the game yet. In the winter portion so I'm sure it's wrapping up. But I have to say that this has been the greatest gaming experience I've ever had, and I'm an old timer. 38  years old and my first console was on Atari 2600.

Up to now... I would have said Demon's Souls was my favorite experience simply because I had put over 500 hours into it.   But man this game... it really is some thing special. Especially if you're a parent like myself, it hits home even more.    And my wife... while she doesn't play games like this, is always excited, in the evening after the kid has been but down to bed, to  watch me play.

Can't wait to play through it again.   Been doing the "hard" mode with no "Batman" vision. Smiley Happy

Top 5 for me this gen....(was very tough as this gen is my favorite for gaming)

1.  The Last of Us

2.  Demons Souls

3.  God of War 3

4.  Infamous 2

5.  Metal Gear Solid 4

Honorable mention to Vanquish.

I accept opinions bro. I accept you have one. I dont care if TLOU is your favorite game. This isnt about. Never was. But it is completely and utterly wrong if you believe that gameplay alone isnt what makes a game. That is a fact. Not opinion.

That. Is. Wrong. You are completely wrong about this. As I've always said, gameplay DOES matter, but obviously it's NOT the ONLY matter.

I mean, look at reviews, man! People are mentioning story and presentation and other things than gameplay constantly! Look at the coverage of games, from magazines and the internet and what have you. Do they ONLY talk about the gameplay? No. Do they think the gameplay is the only factor in what makes a game? No.

You couldn't be more wrong if you think gameplay is the ONLY factor.

And by the time you're done reading this, you'll realize that this is just my sig
