I have anticipated this game for quite a long time, ever since the announcement at the VGA's those few years, and I'm glad it has lived up to my expectations.
honestly, I was not expecting the enviroment to be so dreary, and for it to actually feel post apocolyptic, but it pulls it off very, very well. I thought it would end up feeling like Fallout 3 (or New Vegas) in the sense that everything would seem glued down to the ground, but everything seems to be just like it should. I took a little time to observe little things, and ND put a fantastic amount of detail into the world, i stopped in a flowing stream of water in the beginning and the water actually went around Joel's foot, that was a stand out to me; and while it may not be to most people, this is an amazing engine they are using. Everything had this dark, overridden feeling to it, and the UI/HUD is pretty much non existant when exploring, until you pull up your gun, which is a major plus. I'm also elated at the way they show you how to open drawers, theres no big bold text saying
"THIS IS A DRAWER, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO OPEN THESE, THERE COULD BE ITEMS, PRESS THE FRIGGIN BUTTON"
it plays to subtlety and has a small non-intrusive triangle and thats the end of it. theres also no text shoving
"HEY LOOK SOME BULLETS LOL LETS TAKE UP THE WHOLE SCREEN WITH THIS OBVIOUS INFORMATION"
it gives you an icon, and thats the end of it. strayed off topic; everything seems to be overgrown which is expected in the years past since the apocolypse, while this also may seem small, many games have a problem with doing that, and The Last Of Us pulls it flawlessly.
I'll keep this short and sweet. I was terrified. I have not felt this amount of pure foreboding horror since I played Dead Space, and I think this game scared me a little more. the moment one of the blind guys (don't know their in-game alias, would appreciate someone telling me) came running at me, I panicked, and sprinted like hell. Clickers are even terrifying, which I was not expecting.
The way sounds are used are exquisite, for example; throughout the entire level, I could hear the clicking and I was trying to avoid Listen mode as much as possible so it ratcheted the terror level up a notch, as I felt there was always one nearby. The guns sound great as well as the characters voice actors. I had one minor problem however; I had my Sony Wireless Stereo Headset on, and all the voice acting sounded a bit fuzzy. It was distracting, but I got used to it after a while.
Not much to say, probably the best looking PS3 game to date. I love the character models as well as the enviroments, but you can read about that above.
Overall I cannot wait for release. We have a real gem on our hands here, people.

so your thoughts are the same as everyone else thoughts.
There is a certain amount of truth in there.
I think the forums have been somwhat flooded with demo-related threads. No need to come off rude though.
This months old sig image will remain till the end of days.
it didn't show that much gore really, but what i've seen is pretty violent. The guns feel very powerful, and they shoudn't be wasted (ammo that is). Reload animations are great, of course it takes a bit longer than other games, the sounds on the guns help infinitely.
