Fantastic article.  It's the CoD generation, gaming has been tainted with anger and idiocy. Things need to change.

Criticism of a game and it's developers is fine and sometimes well deserved. The whole "I paid 60 bucks and I deserve a game that I believe is properly balanced" argument is ridiculous, though. If people are that concerned about balance in a game, they should wait to buy it and do some research on it first.

I don't see most complaints as being entitled to anything though. In fact, gamers should be thanked for pushing through with some of the complaints they have. I see it as more of an exchange. I see this is wrong with your multiplayer and in order for me to want to continue to support it, these simple changes should be implemented and I will enjoy your installment even more in the future as well as be very likely to enjoy future installments.

When speaking from a single player or content standpoint then yeah I can see how it would be considered a false sense of entitlement. But these changes help not only make the MP more fun but help people stick around, this gives them more business and a better chance for people to buy DLC and more copies of their product.

For example, say ND listens to the community and changes a lot and communicates and I'm like "wow that's awesome." My cousin comes over one day and I tell him all this stuff and he's now interested and picks up the game and we start playing. That's me spreading the word because I love what they're doing and an even better opportunity for them to make more money. Where as visa versa if they don't fix problems and they don't communicate I can use those as negatives so that when people ask me about hte game (which people around here come to me for gaming info a lot) I can use that as a way to stop them from being as interested because honestly who would even want to play a MP game in which the developer doesn't care.

I believe you posted this in response to all the "please nerf this." threads we've been seeing. I agree with it to a point but gaming has changed a lot in recent years and really nothing is perfect, especially when games don't have betas and it seems more and more like they are skipping the QA stage and just pushing it out asap.

If I'm wrong and that's not the reason you posted it for, then I apologize.

First bold: Do you remember the U3 multiplayer going ever and ever more downhill after the summer beta? You neglect to mention the opposite being true with telling your friends (which has already happened with U3).

Second bold: I'm a person for the people and logic. Combine with ND's previous attempt to nerf and buff the crap out of everything and the (what I believe to be) majority of people, due to the No Need to Nerf thread having more kudos alone then the # of nerf threads I've seen, all logic dictates that something minimal if nothing at all should be done to the guns. We should be happy with what we have before we possibly ruin it again.

First of all, the "games as art" argument is worse than listening to Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith foam at the mouth about "insert useless story in sports".

Second, I could've sworn the majority of who complains about games are new gamers....after all, that generation is "Generation ME". Article is pretty snarky and obviously opinion portrayed as "right". We have politicians to thank on what we should think as "right".

Alright, gripe complete.

^ Certain games CAN be considered art. Ever play Journey? This is one thing I completely disagree with you on.

I think my good man, you just proved my point. Not going to get into it though. In the end, everything is considered opinion Smiley Wink

Edit: For reference, I have a bachelors in creative writing, if that qualifies anything.
