It baffles me how quick people are to complain. I got smacked around a few times BECAUSE I tried to abuse listen mode.

I always assume the worst even if they don't show up. You can hide from listen mode even if you don't have a the covert skill.

When two teams find each other, your last thought is going to be "If it wasn't for listen mode.." Your first questions should be "What do we do as a team?" <-- I ask myself that everytime I'm leading a team.

Oh I'm not complaining, I don't know if I got killed due to listen mode since I always use covert and such. Just the fact that it really isn't something that's fair in general in a MP even if everyone can use it. Not to mention there is a booster that makes it better

Listen mode is one of the few aspects holding this game together as an anti-run-around-like-you-just-don't-care type if game. See, it's encouraging a lot of people to use the Covert booster and spend most of the match in the Crouch-walk position. Thereby slowing the pace of the game.

When I first learned about Listen mode, I was disappointed too. But actually, it's perfect.

I highly doubt Naughty Dog will remove listen mode entirely from the multiplayer.  Its meant to be in there and it even has boosters for it, I love listen mode personally, sharp eye is useful to me at times when I feel like using it.

Other then that, I was actually able to win a few matches when it was only me left by using Listen mode.

Personally, I use it sometimes, but it's not a staple of my gameplay. I do like the effect it has on gameplay, slowing things down, until there's a flare-up of action, people start running around or lose crouch mode, things get hectic, it adds considerably to the tension imo

 

As to their being boosts available for it, yes there are, but in spending points there you're losing them from other potentially better options, I can't see many people building a loadout around it (although I do have a loadout which has is, but it's not one I use much)

 

There needs to be a variety of loadouts, else we'll all end up using cookie cutter builds, the boosts & counters for this add to that principle.

 

Leave it as is I say.
