Re: Michael Jackson shiv: legit tactic?

[ Edited ]

then people would have trouble shivving people from behind if the box was smaller even if they were stealthy. There are already problems with a few not being able to shiv from behind already as well as the triangle priority problem; reducing the shiv "hitbox" is the last thing they should do.

they shouldn't change it, just because you are unhappy getting shivved.

To spite this shiv madness i still own high level people all the time, even though im only a 75. Ask TLOU ELIMINATOR and his crew.

Over 60 hours of this mp this dancing shiv has happened to me once. So to the players that actually do it, how many times out of 5 do you get the kill?

I would say 4 out of 5 times I can get the kill by doing this. It takes a bit of getting used to, to be able to get the shiv consistently against experienced players. Obviously someone who doesn't understand how melee works in this game is an easy target. All a player has to do to avoid getting shiv danced is to hold down on left analog stick and press square. (which is iffy due to latency differences, they may still get you)

If you're unable to tell the difference between the two things you posted, that's OK.  It'll come to you.

Re: Michael Jackson shiv: legit tactic?

I think it's a cheap way to kill someone who's better than you with a gun at close range, and I think it's abusing how the shiv works if the Naughty Dog Gods intended it to a reward for being stealthy but if they intended for you to sprint at someone zig zagging and get behind them and shiv them then I guess I can't complain. But it is a little bias at times due to the delay between players because a lot of the times this happens to me I turn around but I still get shivved and in that sense it's abusing the delay. So my answer is it is a legit way to get a kill sometimes if you are actually quick enough before they turn around but still very cheap and an escape plan for players who are facing an opponent who's better than them with a gun.

Bububu I said two different things and I'm not a hypocrite! Yeah, they've gotta believe me now!

Translation below, note asterisk.

It's not a simplistic thing to do.  People get good at it, and use it.

Whingeing about being killed by it is like whingeing about anything else.*

STPrakU and play.  Or RQ.  We don't care.

*Except when Scootgar is whinging, then it's ok and it doesn't fall under the enormous umbrella that is "anything else."

Alternative translations:

"Everything legitimate until it's something I disagree with."

"Only the sith deal in absolutes."
