What's the math behind armor damage?

See, the loading screen's tip says the armor reduce 50% damage, but I still have my doubts...

After some tests, I've noticed that a bow shot (55 damage) takes the armor off. Two more shots to down a opponent. So, 55+55+55 = 165 = down.
More than that, a bow headshot (100) takes the armor off. One more shot to the body to get a down (55). So, 100+55 = 155 = down.
Looking these two examples, you could think:
1) armor is just like +50 health and breaks after 50 damage, or
2) armor armor reduce 50% damage and breaks after 25 damage.

But the same calculation doesn't apply to the 9mm. If it applied, a 9mm headshot (60) should take the armor off but it doesn't. Neither do the revolver and SAR's headshots (70).

Does anyone know exactly how it works? Ignoring shots to the legs, of course.

Semis head shot is 66hp no? I assumed all head shots doubled original damage. I've also always added 50hp for armor....
Thus revolver and semi being 33hp per hit. 1 shot plus head shot is a down.
Executioner is 25, 2 shots to head is 50+50.
Molotovs are 50000 damage 30 feet away, and a QuintaJillian at direct impact...
55-65 damage for HR. 2 hits are a down or 110-130 damage. That's why 1 headshot 110-130 damage takes off helmet and needs only one body shot after that.
If a device can tell us exacts thatd be great. No need to tell us about molotovs though I did my math on that one.

Yeah, a help from a developer would be great.

But, see, a sar's headshot don't break the armor. So it's not like that...

I'd be glad to test this kind of stuff in a private match. Add me, if anyone wants to do it so.

im just saying this from vague memory of what a dev said, but im pretty sure chest armour is literally just 50+hp. and helmets are 100+hp except headshots still do double/triple damage to the head even if you have a helmet. so even though you theoretically now have 200 hp when getting shot in the head, the damage is still multiplied for the respective weapons. if it was only 50hp to the helmet, it would be virtually pointless and if

headshot damage wasnt multiplied, it would make the helmet too good.

Armor is useless, as soon as I buy it I always run into a bomb and it's gone, 450+ parts wasted...

100hp in helmet? I'm almost sure that you can down a armored enemy with two shots with hr/bow (one to the head and one to the body).

Well, i don't buy armor, but they do. So I want to know better how take them down.
