Have to agree with the OP. I' am hoping for completely new modes and not just rehashes of the 2 we have.

I would have much preferred some type of objective mode then. then a copy of another mode

I think mercenary mode is a good idea.
Players will be in a lobby full of strangers. Then, when they play in the match, players will find someone they work well with and become friends. Finally, they will make a party and play in the normal mode.

Go to the Official Multiplayer Page, and you can easily find players to party up with there.

I would really LOVE to see the number of players online for this game. I wish ND didn't hide it. I do think the MP is great, but the one mode I want more than anything is an objective based mode of some kind.

Splitting the game into two more redundant modes depends on the population of the game.

I do worry that it will be problematic

I agree. I want the community to be MASSIVE. We definitely need objective-based modes. It fits this game WAY to well. The gameplay is perfect for it. I would hope for it to come in an update though, rather than DLC. That way everyone can play it and it's super active.

IMO, the ideal playlist is:

Survivor
Supply Raid
ONE Mercenary Mode! You can vote for either Survivor or Supply Raids from within the voting screen (think of it like Team Tactical/Moshpit from COD)
Objective Mode DLC
Co-Op mode DLC

*These modes should be free, with DLC profits focusing on skins, taunts, etc.

If this game gets map DLC, which it should, then the community will be split even more, unless ND makes that free.

I really love the modes, but an objective mode would be so complimentary.

What about a game mode where one team defends a crate of food and the offensive team must get it by holding triangle or something.

I just played Supply Raid by myself. My 3 team mates are lvl 0. My opponents, lvl 15+
They all had mics on, so they must have been a party.
WE NEED MERCENARY MODE!!
