covert training overrated?

Am I the only one who thinks so?
Its great for the lone wolves and has a place in survivor mode, but from a team player pov, I find it near worthless.

You could be running crafter 3 to assist the team, or first aid 2 and reviver 1 to keep the team on their feet.

Maybe its just me and my playstyle, but I notice a major difference in matches when I'm rocking a team oriented setup as apposed to a combat heavy or stealth setup.

Wait till you play a full team using it (or play competitively). It completely controls the pace of a match.

I've seen whole teams using it. I don't find it that bad since I only play with friends and we usually stick together. We just take our time advancing through a level.
Now, not being able to mark them is frustrating, but that's when communication comes into play.

The problem is that it strips out a core component of the multiplayer (listen mode) and makes camping too viable. In addition knowing players are using it causes you to drastically alter how you play the match.

It's one of the few boosters that I believe would be best tweaked slightly.

It can be countered with strategist 2/3 though.

It's only a good booster if it suits your playstyle. To use it effectively, ideally you need to:

  • Be using a suppressed weapon
  • Be prepared to crouch-walk most of the time
  • Have a knack for remaining hidden and not giving away your position
  • Keep away from any team mates who aren't using it
  • Know how to flank effectively

Which is why I fail with it lol. I'm always in the middle of the sh!tstorm with my friends. I do use it with a brawler setup which is alot of fun.

I almost always play with it when paying solo.   I generally do much better Down-Kill-Death wise, when playing solo, than in a team.  It's amazing the stupid things people do when they are sure there's no one there, i.e. they've used listen mode, and seen no one around.

It feels useless, unless the whole team is using it in a well co-ordinated manner, THEN it becomes deadly, such a scenario leads to massive periods of peace and quiet and suddenly all hell breaks loose.

But yeah pointless if not playing with a well co-ordinated squad at your side.

I've started letting people know I have it, and if they don't, to stay away from me.
