I bet the game would run perfectly fine even if it was made on a Wii U and without downgrading it one bit from how it is on the PS4 and there'd still be resources to spare.  Why can't SONY's own game studios fully utilize the power of the PS4?

I doubt that the Wii U could run this game, lol. Stop spewing trash, man. You are making stupid assumptions.

How can a Wii U game like an action-packed Mario Kart 8 (I know it's a different kind of game) run at  full1080p / 60 fps with pretty graphics, no compromise on a much, much weaker piece of hardware? It's the developers fault, not the console.

You're crying about things you're not even going to notice. If you're going to act like a baby don't buy the game. Christ

You haven't played the game or even seen gameplay, yet you are already complaining about the graphics?

Wouldn't be possible on Wii U, 360, or PS3 - if you looked at the tech videos and behind the scenes portion of the game, the tech is too advanced for those consoles, they even mention it in an interview that the game wasn't going be able be possible on PS3 with their vision and scope of the game. It's almost as funny as the guy who thinks Resogun could be done on PS3 or the colecovision over a weekend.

If you don't appreciate the black bars, that's fine. It's an artistic approach the studio chose to use and is explained well again in their interviews why they chose to do so. It's understandable to have a few people being skeptical over Sony's decisions when it comes to a game. A few were like that for a zombie like game from Sony, belittling it like it's going to fail as "oh it's just a another Zombie game". Multitude of Game of the Year awards later, The Last of Us it's heralded as the best game to come out in years.

Just like I put my trust in Naughty Dog to pop out an excellent title whenever they decide to make one, as their background fully shows they have not made a bad game so far. Same goes for Ready at Dawn, not a bad game in their portfolio at all.

I'm pretty confident Sony will still make great games on PS4 and The Order : 1886 is one of them. It will more than likely get praises (high scores) and awards from what I and many others have seen and been impressed with so far.

Spoiler

Wii U is a slightly more powerful 360, that's all. Of course it could maybe do 1080p @60p with outdated visuals/old generation engines only used on 360/PS3). It's no where near the power or visual upgrade of the XO/PS4. Here's AC4 as example...

Not to worry, it was just a link to the AC4 digital foundry article. I'm trying to stay on topic of The Order : 1886 as it seems we're about to go in off topic category trying to bring up a console (Wii U) that is normally mentioned in the same breath of power as the PS3/360 not the PS4/XO...

As for odd aspect ratios, it's like an incomplete painting on canvas or a photo oddly fitting  in a photo frame.

Seems odd to me that they'd cut the ends off before inserting it into the frame.
