It is different for some cars. For example, Roadboat and Shadow have to jump, drop the remote, then TURBO backwards for it to stick. If you do this with RK or faster vehicles, you'll fly right under it and it won't stick.
My thoughts on self stick are it is FAIR. Maybe it's an unintentional bug in game design but, as Apu stated earlier, a remote bomb that cannot be avoided when thrown from Diablo Pass to Metro City through walls, cliffs, and giant Santa statues is RIDICULOUS.
I would, however, like to be able to SEE more remote bombs on my radar. Sometimes self stickers escape because the radar lies and sayys they have no bomb on them.
