Ok, so we all know there's some sort of issue causing the stat server dependent Twisted Metal trophies from glitching. Using the following method, you should be able to finally get IAMSWEETTOOTH, one of the hardest PS3 platinum trophies out there due this unfortunate glitch.
Currently there are only 87 out of 40,215 (0.21% of players tracked) that have the platinum at http://bit.ly/VZSj7n, , putting in the ranks of one of the hardest PS3 trophies to get (almost impossible).
There were mixed reports over http://bit.ly/ozyQdm that resetting your save data would grant you these elusive stat tracking trophies. Unfortunately I tried that to no avail, several times. Someone suggested that you might want to try only hosting games, and that unfortunately seems to be the golden warthog that gets the trophies to pop. It was the only method that worked for me, after trying several including the brute force of just wracking up kills without looking back.
Apparently, the glitch is occurring either when you DO NOT host all your games, or because of some tracking error when moving between self-hosted, and non-hosted games. It's not as simple as not getting credit for the stats on non-hosted games, which people seemed to think before. If you enter a game you are NOT hosting, the game will most likely glitch the stat tracking, and make it impossible to get the trophies until you start all over yet again. Unfortunately, once it glitches, it's glitched, and you'll see youself progressing past the point where they should have popped, with no trophies.
So, the steps to get the stat tracking trophies (Point, Shoot, Kill, Any car will do, Another Level, A la Mode) without glitching :
Note: If you join someone else's game that they are hosting, you most likely will glitch and have to start over. If you are disconnected during the round or at the stats posting display at the end of a round, those wins will not count, but you won't glitch as long as you keep making sure you are still hosting. Periodically check you stats, and make sure you count is correct, if it's lower then what you last wrote down, use that lower value. I can not verfiy others in your group, if you have a group trying for this, will see trophies if they alwasy play with the same one host hosting, as I did this as a lone gunner. It's possible, but IMO it's the playing in others games that seems to be causing the stat glitch.
This worked for me, after a few months of making sure I NEVER went into other room but the one I created on my own (you might have seen ISKREEM or December24th2005 at some point, that was me). Right on time, when I hit 100 kills and 50 kills, they popped as they should. It's weird that some sort of bug between hosting and not hosting is causing it, but there you are.
Happy hunting! And thank you for playing Twisted Metal.

Nope, got them last week. Just trying to fill rooms with competent, and non-cheapo players.
But yes, it took me a few months, mainly because getting rooms to fill, not to DC or drop stats, takes a while. I was usually hosting ISKREEM or December24th2005 (TM1)
I do admit, I find pleasure in 100%'ing my games. It reminds me Knife runs in RE3 against Nemesis, or getting the RL in RE1, or trying to kill minion in TM1 with only drop mines. Something to work towards, and something to change things up.
Anyways, good hunting. It really isn't that bad if you're a normal player, you just need to host, host, host and they'll pop.

Anybody want to gun for these 4 glitched trophies using this method? We can help each other out and switch off hosting, switch off wins, and switch off number of kills.
Send me a friend invite at Humboldt_Squid
Thanks for posting this my friend. Stay Twisted!

switching isn't a good idea. One would have to go all the way through and his or hers pop first, THEN the others would switch.
I did this alone, so can't say for sure, but I'm guessing the others not hosting would not get the trophies because they are not a host. switching back and forth def glitches it.
